Okay, here is one I've been working on for a while. I hope you enjoy it:
THE CHRISTMAS PUMPKIN
The field had one lonely pumpkin left in its weeds,
Passed over for jack o lanterns, pies and seeds;
Halloween came and went, Thanksgiving too,
Christmas was coming fast and there was nothing for him to do;
He had dreamed from his birth to brighten a child’s day,
To be a part of that spooky night in any particular way;
His heart was filled with sadness, as he’d certainly would decay,
Unused, unwanted and unloved, nothing left to say;
Christmas Eve arrived, on the small quiet farm,
With, a gentle white snow, that blanketed the land like a charm;
The little pumpkin woke from a slumber by the sound of distant bells,
And deep, warm laughter as that famous poem tells;
The sleigh came to halt just inches from his place,
And a jolly fat man stepped out, white beard covering his face;
“Well Hello, little Fellow,” the elf said with a chuckle,
As his belly wildly shook and he adjusted his belt buckle;
“You’re just what I need to fulfill a very special request,
Of a little girl named Becky who deserves more than the rest;
Santa, I’ve been sick quite a bit, through spring, summer and fall,
I missed Halloween, the holiday I love most of all;
So this year is different, there are no dolls on my list,
Just one little pumpkin is my Christmas Wish;”
Santa picked up the pumpkin and brushed off all the snow,
And placed the happy little gourd in the gift sack below;
With a crack of his whip the team took to the skies;
Leaving that cold empty field a mere speck in their eyes;
On the morning thereafter as Becky woke from her sleep,
She crept down the stairs toward the living room to take a peek;
And what she saw was an amazing and heart warming sight,
A beautiful Christmas tree with tinsel, bulbs and lights;
And beneath that blue spruce with branches so low,
Was a little pumpkin carved with a smile and lit with candle glow;
Although, the girl jumped for joy and experienced happiness with her new friend,
It was really the little pumpkin, no longer lonely, who had his wish granted in the end.
Merry Christmas.

That is an awesome poem!! I like your structure and how it flows. It's just the thing to shed some happiness in the dark. Keep 'em coming, and thanks for sharing.
As darkness falls, the path ahead becomes veiled in gloom. A jack-o-lantern shines through the night. It's horrible visage serves two fold. To keep wickedness at bay, and remind travelers their fate, if they wander off the path.
