I don't see a thread for Halloween decor, but I'm sure I'm missing it. You can't expect a lot out of me at almost 4:30 AM. Anyway, is anyone here familar with Jim Shore's work?? He does AWESOME Halloween pieces. They are resin but look like they are carved out of wood. Most Hallmarks carry his pieces and you have to see them in person to really appreciate them.

    Here are some examples:

OEJ got the walking Reaper piece for his birthday this year. It's pretty big and really cool in person.

    And some more:

He's also done some Oz pieces for this year that I don't have yet.

I expect there will be new announements from him in the next few weeks. I think his Halloween pieces are announced in January.

We have been collecting Jim Shore pieces but this was the first year we bought a Halloween piece. I WANT MORE! They really are great. I got the one that is a witch looking down into a cauldron (votive holder) standing next to a black cat and headstone. I have enjoyed her so much that she hasn't been packed away yet. I guess I better get to it before Santa gets jealous.

I'll bet some of that stuff is pretty spendy. Try looking up Bethany Lowe. She does Halloween and Christmas pieces like that too. $$$$$

We only have one Halloween piece and one Christmas piece and two non-holiday pieces. If I had the money, I'd have most of his Halloween and Christmas pieces. I love the Rudolph ones this year. I can't wait to see what he'll do for 2008.

I loved his flying witches but I am supposed to be conserving $$$. It took every ounce of will power not to buy them anyway. There is always next year. Anticipation is good for the soul and I suppose the bank account too.

This was a really "hot" display. I put my Jim Shore Santa and sleigh, reindeer and several of his snowmen on the top of this built in hutch. We lit the candles to take a picture and after about 10 minutes I started to smell hot wood. Seems the candle power was too much heat and and it started to scorch the underside of the top shelf. Good thing we caught it before the snowmen melted
