First off I am not begging, or forcing anyone to do this. Please only respond if you realy want to. Ok here is the deal. I am horrible at designing my haunted house. I was hoping some body on here was good at floor plans and could help. This my haunt is asylum based. The only rooms a can decide on are a maximum secreity room, A doctor room, A mourge, And a padded room. If you would like to help and and add your own ideas to the plan feel moe then free. The drawing is a scale drawing of the subfloor that I will be building on. It is 24ft by 24ft. The crossed areas are ramps. The only thing I ask is that the halls are kept to 3ft wide. So if you have some extra free time I would love your help. P.s. I know my haunt is not that big but it is all I have to work with next year. P.s.s I would also love to have a boiler room somewhere in my haunt.
Build it and they will come.

Asylum haunts are excellent! Put the right colors, some depressing lighting and you're on your way. I would make the first room the actual doctor's room. From there, I would pass the guests into the maximum security, followed by the padded room. I would put the morgue next to the boiler room, because you can then use the boiler room as a sort of cremation room.

Do you want access ways for scareactors? I would build it to have hallways that run parallel to the guest walkways.

Room size should depend on the function you intend it to be used for....

OH! I have an idea for your haunt-- my husband suggested we use it at some point... but I'm years away from doing anything elaborate (I need a house first).

Have your guests walk though a room that's mostly quiet. There's someone (one of your actors dressed as an inmate...) on the floor and they reach up and quietly plea for "help" while reaching up, hand extended towards a guest... maybe they're under a table or some obstruction. Suddenly, they're pulled away, screaming, into another room where all guests hear are crunching sounds like something is being eaten... maybe flickering lights--- not a strobe light, but like the electrical isn't functioning properly... then have the light in the room go out (but have a light in the next room so people can see where they're running).

Sorry... that was a long tanget.

Room size should depend on the function you intend it to be used for.... for example, the above scene would take a somewhat longer room-- to allow people room to "run away" and also to allow more people to "see" the scene. Whereas, padded rooms will probably only need to be 4x4 or 5x5 rooms.

I'd love to draft something up for you... I just don't know if I'll have the time right now. =/

    Remind me in January? =D

I also should ask... what are the ramps for? If you're trying to make your ramps wheel-chair accessable, the ADA standard is 1-foot of ramp for every 1-inch rise.

I don't think I need access ways for my haunt. Usaually I have secret doors that connect all the rooms together.
Build it and they will come.

That was an awsome room idea jadewik. If you don't mind I would love to use it in my haunt.
The ramps for my haunt are to get people on and off my my haunts sub floor. The floor panel is only 4 inches above the ground, so a 4ft ramp will work just fine.
Build it and they will come.

I don't mind you using it-- wouldn't have shared it if I wasn't open to you using it... but I want to see pictures! I love pictures! ^_^

There are a couple episodes of "Supernatural" I recommend you watch for inspiration... (I'll probably watch them tonight now that you got me all psyched up!)

"Asylum": Season 1 Episode 10- When Sam and Dean investigate a mysterious asylum that has a history with abuse, an evil force inside causes Sam to lose his sanity and turn on his brother. (There might be some good set/room ideas you could pull from there)

"Folsom Prison Blues": Season 2 Episode 41- Sam and Dean allow themselves to be arrested in order to investigate a series of murders inside a penitentiary. However things get complicated when FBI agent Henricksen shows up to take over their case. (Good set ideas... prison scene, bars... solitary... etc)

"Croatoan": Season 2 Episode 31- Sam has a vision of Dean shooting a defenseless man, and they go to the town of River Grove, where they find the townspeople have been possessed by a virus that makes them violent. (Good ideas for things to do... there's a doctor's lab in there... and just the general idea of a "demon virus" is kinda inspiring).
