Now this was a memorable Halloween. My son was hit by a car while crossing the road to come home from school (1981). Luckily the car was only going about 16 mph. He was in the hospital for a month...lost his spleen and several teeth...and was in a body cast for several months. He was so upset about missing Halloween but numerous friends and fiends came to cheer him up. That's my hubby in the pig mask.![]()

That is too sweet, Madame...it's always nice when halloween comes to you! Must have been the not very good kind of scare, but it seems like everyone really got into making him smile. Thanks for sharing.

Madam T, what a wonderful thing for friends and family to do for your son. And your digital scrapbooking talent is impressive!

How cool is that, glad your son is ok too. But with the political correctness going on, I'm offended by the "pig" mask!! JUST KIDDING!! (I am a police officer in my "real" life though!)

Having a six year old laid up for an extended period of time can really wear you out. It is a good thing he was young...at least we could pick him up with the body cast and put him on one of those mechanics dollies so he could roll himself on the floor to play with his little brother.
How time flies! He is 32 now, and a father! Have you ever known one of those people who just has bad luck? Well, that would be my son. He is nearing the fourth year of surgeries (numbering 8) and rehab as the result of an industrial accident. His hand was crushed and degloved in a print machine. I will let you use your imagination about what a degloving accident is (it's really ugly). The doctor said he is still looking at two more years before he will be fully recovered and have some use of his dominant hand. Is it any wonder Mother's get gray hair?

My husband's boss, the chief of police, wasn't real pleased with that mask either. It mysteriously disappeared from the locker room. I was a police officer widow for 30 years....he has been retired for six years now so I actually get to see him. Lucky we discovered we still like each other
Stay safe out there. O.K.

Wow... what stories!! That is a wonderful thing to do for him. Besides what better place to have Halloween then a hospital. Hope the rest of those surgeries go wonderfully... and on a side note... to you law enforecment officers and families - thanks for your service and sacrifice. Me and mine apprecaite it!

That must have been a scary, scary time for you, Madame! As a mom, I can fully sympathize. I'm glad he's doing fine (despite the industrial accident). And many thanks to your law enforcement hubby....those guys and girls are on the front line every day for all of us.

"Gomez, take those out of his mouth!"
