Hi! I'm one of those "invaders" from t'other forum-- some of you may have noticed the overwhelming number of us migrating over here. I thought it'd be best if I stopped hanging out in the introduction forum and posted something Halloween-ish to show my love and unyielding devotion for the holiday. *grin*

This year, I had more pumpkins than time to carve them... so after Halloween, I had to think of what to do with the one I'd so tenderly plucked from the field, but didn't carve for Halloween. Turns out, a friend of mine got hitched Turkey-Day weekend... so I asked if I could carve it for her wedding. She said "sure!"... and lo and behold this was my creation! Muahaha!

I designed, drew, and carved it. The drawing took AGES. The carving took a little over an hour. I don't have the design scanned at this time... I'm such a slacker! I do LOVE to design patterns. Some turn out great. Some... not too bad. I occasionally draw something up if asked and I've time...

Here are some other pumpkin pics from this year:

... and some from previous years VIA links:

I have more, but those are the most recent. I do hope you enjoy! =D

Beautiful work! It's so cool to see original ideas, and on the beloved pumpkin as a canvas!

Gosh! I don't look credible with my 8 old children pumpkin patterns...
I have a lot to learn from you. What technique do you use to remove the skin of the pumpkin without damaging the flesh (do you use this word in English to qualify the inner fruit?) such as the Arabian night cattle pumpkin? Any surgery tools? lol
Please teach me!! I have to know!!

Oh my gosh, I LOVE the wedding pumpkin. What a great idea for an October wedding! Or for Thanksgiving for that matter. Really beautiful work.

I've been using some Pumpkin Masters Sculpting tools the past 3 years (for the skull, Darkness, and the TajMahal)... but, I had a casualty this year and my scraper broke (it looked like a mini-ice scraper)... so I have no idea what I'm going to use if I do 3D carving next year... =/

I bought a pumpkin carving dremel tool this year... but it didn't do exactly what I wanted it to do-- though, I did use it to draw the line designs on the Taj'.

I have some wood carving hobby tools too... but I haven't tried them yet. I need to find a big took for scooping away chunks of flesh/pulp.... because if I can find a tool that does that more quickly, I'd be in heaven!

I got my 3D inspiration from this guy:
