I'd like to see exactly how many different type of haunters are here. Are you a simple yard haunter or an over the top "Garage is filled with stuff" yard haunter? Do you run a Haunted attraction or participate in one? Maybe you just love to collect halloween Decorations. I bet there is even a few that do it all. lol. What do you do?

I am a newbie but the scariest thought of all is I have a full basement, attic, garage and another attic above the garage. Since we got all the kids and moms things sorted and moved out there is way too much room for storage. Based on my past behavior, I expect we will fill these spaces up as my projects grows.

I guess I would be considered a simple yard haunter. I always decorate my front porch. This year, I decorated my front yard also. I had a 12 foot spider (12 foot with legs fully extended but smaller when posed) and web along with six store-bought tombstones, enclosed in a homemade fence adorned with vines, spiders, a rat, and a crow, all in my front yard. On my front porch, I had a static six foot homemade witch and a six foot skeleton in a pillory. In my two bedroom windows above my porch, I had translucent posters of a skull and a ghoul illuminated from within by a strobe light. Not very impressive by HF standards, but one of the better displays in my small town.
Abandon hope all ye who enter here.

I do one or two camp ground sites during the season, and I also do my yard,on a smaller scale. My basement is quite full of things already, but I keep making more and have to keep rearranging to make room for it. I would guess I am some where in the middle, of how much I have. If even half of my 08 plans take place, I will have alot more props, so will have to find a bigger area to store. Maybe hubby's car parts and "stuff" could get kicked out of the pole barn!!LOL
I have flying monkeys- and I'm not afraid to use them!

For my home I would say I am in between simple and over the top, yard haunter. I deck out my carport with tarps, lights, and props. Nothing too major, just enough. But on a grander scale, I help my squadron put together it's annual Haunt. Lots of planning, corridinating, building, and opertuinities to try new things. For that I would say I help run a haunted attraction. Both are fun, and give me different types of Halloween satisfaction.
As darkness falls, the path ahead becomes veiled in gloom. A jack-o-lantern shines through the night. It's horrible visage serves two fold. To keep wickedness at bay, and remind travelers their fate, if they wander off the path.

I would think that I would be a "over the top decorator" I have a shed packed and a attic packed full of Halloween decorations and i guess if I would have a garage it also would be packed.

I started small and am heading towards the "are you out of your mind" stage of decorating. Eventually want to do haunts for charity so that will definitely put me in a different category.

Shadow Mistress I love your idea of doing haunts for charity. That is what I want to work toward. After working for a non-profit social service agency for 25 years I know the community's needs greatly exceed the funding for social services. Local funds have been and will be redirected to support the war. I say BRAVO Shadow Mistress and any other haunters that support local charities.

Currently, I am at stage one of the sickness. I am attempting to progress to stage two, but since 1/2 of our storage unit is filled with props, I am limited on how much I can grow.

i am an over the top yard haunter and decorator ....i like the fantasic side of halloween , not so much the gory bloody horror side of it , the side of halloween that makes the kids eyes go wide open and just wonder and get wowed , ....... our basement is full of halloween props and decorations , even the garage is filling up too..... i just love it and love to imagine the scenes i want to create ,i guess it is a way for me to get creative and artistic, i am a detail freak and hate it when i cant go all out with all the details i want to achieve , i guess i am also very ambious , i imagine scenes and props a certain way so it gets frustrating at times too when i have limited skills and knowledge to build props and cant achieve what i imagined ....
