this is for those of us that live in south florida, for me,,this is the 3rd year in A ROW that weather conditions ruined my halloween plans. electronics dont do well in pouring rain , kids dont come out, and i go into about a 3 day depression.. i dont know how much more halloween let down i can take! any of you fellow floridians having my same luck?

Hey Zero I feel your pain. We thought Halloween would be a washout this year
but, we managed to save it. We set up as best we could and were able to pull off a slightly less decorated version of our haunt. Where are you located? I've been meaning to post a thread to ID my fellow South Floridians.

I took the day off to set up our little haunt. I managed to secure the tombstones by entangling them with webs and placing them near small trees and bushes. The on and off showers, however, ruined my blood effects. We still had a fair number of TOTers since it didn't rain at all in our part of town past 5:30pm.

But it HAS been the 3rd year in a row that rain and hurricanes pretty much have frustrated my efforts. I don't have any expensive animatronics for that very reason. Oh, I'm in Kendall in Miami, by the way.

I'm not from South Florida but my husband is. He grew up in Miami. I grew up in Pensacola. I have family in Pensacola and Gulf Breeze and his family is in Jupiter, St. Petersburg and Jacksonville.

I asked the question but I didn't tell where I am. I live in Miramar but, our haunt takes place in Miami Spings. I'm hoping there are more S. Floridians out there.

I have extended family (cousins, etc.) up in St. Pete, but immediate family is all here in Miami.

I'm in North Lauderdale and when we got the news about the tropical storm I simply sat down and cried. Halloween is my favorite holiday and we usually put up a bunch of decorations and scare the heck out of the ToTs. They love it. The parents love it. We love it. It's also our Houseiversary as we closed & moved into the(our first) house Oct 31, 2002.

With the awful wind everything would be ruined so we put up a few things next to the front door and still managed to scare them properly. We watched 28 Days Later in between the knocks on the front door.

So looking forward to next year.
