Well the night went pretty well. All the tot'ers had fun, and there were quite a few older ones that were too scared to enter the garage to get their candy. (that made my night)![]()
Received alot of compliments on the decortaions and props. I was told by quite a few people that my setup was the best on the block/neighbourhood again this year (My neighbough wants to help make it bigger next year). All in all it was a fun night. It was not as warm as last year, but was still warm enough to have the kids keep comming by until 10 pm (started giving out candy around 7ish). Just over 200 kids this year (more than last year). This year I didn't run out of candy. The left over candy went to my cousin's kids and next door neighbours (you should of seen the looks on their kid's faces).
I also had alot of drive up's. They came by after some of the people on my street called them and told them to come by and check it out (that was pretty cool). : )
The fog chiller didn't work that well this year because of the light winds we had as well as the colder night, but it still woked well enough for the graveyard. But all the work I put in this year was welll worth all the smiles (and screams) I got.
Anyhow, here are some pics.
By the way, I finally sat down yesterday to add up the total cost I spent this year. Not bad, just over $500. I said I wouldn't spend more that $100 (I guess that was wishfull thinking on my part).![]()
I guess it's time I start planning for next year. (359 more days to go. How will I be able to cope with the wait?)![]()

Thanks theworstwitch, it was alot of work. I started setting up the night before (the garage part), but everything else that would be seen from the outside like the graveyard, lighting, garage curtain, ect... was all done on the 31st. No one else was there to help me set up. It was also all taken down by midnight. In other words it was a very long day for me. lol
The funny part was the next day. I was out cleaning up the grave mulch when when I had quite a few drive by's asking my neighbours and me where the "spooky" house was. I told them that they would have to come back next year to see it. As one of the cars drove away I could here one of the dissapointed kids in the back of the car cry out "I told you that we should went by last night". They didn't sound very happy. lol
Here are a couple of more pictures.

Nice looking set up! I'm really liking the "scene setters" I've seen so many folks use. I gotta try those next year for the garage section of my haunt.
Great display!

I absolutey LOVE, LOVE, LOVE everything that you did!!! It's just perfect! What a wonderful combination of creepy, yet still "fun"!!! The inside of the garage with the lights on looks awesome!!! Amazing job!!!
I came here to chew bubble gum and kick ass. I'm all out of bubble gum.
Laurie: "Was that the boogeyman?"
Dr. Loomis: "As a matter of fact...that was."

I bought a second package of that same stone pattern because I thought I didn't have enough. Turns out I had another 25x4 section put away in one of the boxes, opps.Nice looking set up! I'm really liking the "scene setters" I've seen so many folks use. I gotta try those next year for the garage section of my haunt.
Great display!
I cut it in half to double the heigth to 8 feet. What you see in the pictures is only one package (50x4 cut in half to make a setion 25x 8). Since I have a second unused package I might double the size of the garage haunt next year.
At first my neighbours thought it was too much work for one night, but they were enjoying the scared kids even more than I was. (they are a sadistic bunch)That looks great! That is work well rewarded by the kids' reaction.
Thanks DeadEnd. I broke a black spiral bulb about an hour before nightfall and had to run over to Rona to get a replacement. As luck would have it the price scanned up more than what it said on the package, so I got the bulb for free (scan code protection or something like that). I should of went back the next day and picked up a few more of them. lol As for the creepy vs. fun, I wanted something that was not over the top and that wouldn't frieghten the really young tot'ers too much. What amazed me was that a few kids didn't even bother looking around the garage before they got their candy. They got in and out quickly. Some were even too scared to even pass through the curtain (and some of those were the older kids too) lol. The really little tot'ers were the ones that were the most fun to watch. They would walk/run up the driveway towards the garage and then stop dead in their tracks when they saw me.What a wonderful combination of creepy, yet still "fun"!!! The inside of the garage with the lights on looks awesome!!! Amazing job!!!

What I found funny was that it took me around 2 days to get everything set up (not counting the weeks of putting props together), and only about 2 hours to get everything put away (a neighbour helped a bit). I'm glad I was able to work on the setup (prop wise) a few weeks/months in advance. There would be no way to do all the stuff I did in a short period of time.
Btw, I take my hat off to those of you out there that do much bigger haunts than the one I did. I'll see if i can post a couple of more pics. I have a short video as well but it's rather big Kb wise.
Just so you know, it's staring to snow where I am. I guess that means it's time to start pulling out the Christmas stuff now. lol

Excellent Hallow33n! Great pics.
I agree the little ones are a hoot. Some of our real little ones were fearless, others had eyes the size of pop cans.
