I finally have stashed everything back in my attic and looking back, this was definitely the best Halloween yet. I went with a Pirates of the Caribbean theme and it turned out awesome. I made the front page of the local paper, and a local station broadcasted live all morning from my yard/cave. You can see photos, and a link to the interview, on my website at hauntedlincoln.com.

For next year, I'm going to utilize the bedroom that is next to the porch. I'll have a hole in the cave that looks into a large treasure room (ala the Pirates ride at Disneyland). I'm thinking of beefing up the ship portion on the yard, with rigging. I'm debating whether the re-create the bar scene from the ride, with two skeletons drinking at the bar, or trying to replicate the guys locked in the jail trying to get the dog to bring them the keys...the set itself wouldn't be hard, but getting their faces would be very tough.
