My mom said I should buy some Halloween candy on sale and store it until next year because we get TONS of TOT'ers. NOT chocolate ... stuff like hard candies, gummies, lollipops, etc.

How long does Halloween candy keep? How do you store it?????

I'm not sure about hard candies, but I know lollipops can get pretty slimy after long periods of time. I'm not sure about gummies either, but personally I wouldn't expect much from them.

I find that the candy my kids still have by christmas is bad. I would not do it myself.

    DON'T DO IT!!!

My dad RUINED me on certain types of candy (and it is unbelievable that we never got egged, but I guess the TOTs never figured out who was giving the crappy old candy) because he'd buy in bulk and give out year-old candy.

I still can't eat Cadbury easter eggs... nearly broke a tooth on one when I was 7 or 8.

It all is a food product, and at the best would last a couple of months, maybe 6. Maybe if you froze it, but I would still never do that after my experience growing up with that.

Yeah, I didn't think it was a good idea either. She and I agreed that anything with dairy was a bad idea but we just weren't sure about the other stuff.

I usually buy clearance Halloween candy and save it for Christmas and buy clearance Christmas candy and save it for Easter. Just keep chocolate in a cool dry place, hard candies usually keep a long time before moisture in the air starts to break them down.
