Hello again everyone and also to all the new people that have joined since I last posted. Congratulations on the wonderfully successful haunts you all had! I think everyone should give themself a hearty pat on the back for creating another year of Halloween magic for kids and adults to enjoy!!
I haven’t had time to post in awhile as my Dad was diagnosed with cancer which creates an endless chain of doctor appointments, testing and an emotional roller coaster. I did manage to read this board every morning and Mr. L and I were right there with everyone, sharing the trials, last minute panic and anticipation of another Halloween season. In fact, this year, Halloween has really helped me cope. When I was about to have a meltdown, Mr. L would start talking about our Halloween prep, give me a gentle nudge in the set up direction and soon my mind and actions were immersed in the wonderful world of Halloween which made me relax so I could be strong for my Dad and help him through another day of bad news, doctors and tests.
Today is my day to catch up on reading and posting so please forgive me if I bombard the board. I’m really enjoying looking at everyone’s pics and I’ll post ours as soon as Mr. L gets them on photobucket.
Again, congrats to everyone! Now it’s time to bask in the glory, revel in the money you saved at after Halloween sales and start planning for next year!!

So sorry about your father - I hope the treatments go well for him.
As far as hitting the board with lots of posts - cool! I'm still hoping that this place doesn't turn into a graveyard in the coming weeks, as I still get on here several times a day and I really don't need the added lunacy of talking to myself.

Frankie's Girl: it slows down in here but the diehards (I hope you're one!) stay here all year. Believe me, it's great here all year round.
Mrs. Leatherface: So very sorry to hear about your father. Your dad, you, and your family are in our thoughts and sending positive energy your way. Hope the treatments go well. It can be beat.

I start out with the intention of staying on all year but then after Christmas I seem to forget to check as the posts get to be less and less. Then when summer comes and I start working on the props outside, I think of you all again and start checking once again.

Thanks all for the kind wishes for my Dad. I got a bit distracted from posting today as Mr. L conned me into starting to pack up stuff. Our haunt is in the garage so I always procrastinate putting it all away since it’s so depressing. We livened the work up a bit by discussing new scenes and ideas for next year. I will be here all year around....I’m addicted to this group now and there’s always something to discuss about Halloween!

Sorry to hear about your dad. My father had a quad bi-pass this past summer that resulted in a infection that required two more surgeries. I know how mentally draining a illiness of a loved one can be.

MrsLeatherface, sorry to hear about your father's illness. This forum does help to get though stressful things. I hope to be more active in the forum in the coming year than I have in the past couple of years.
