The haunted chicken house in Heflin Alabama was a huge success this year. We brought in our highest grossing amount to date. But I was missing out. I came up with a few new ideas for existing rooms as well as two new rooms. (One of which being mine.) I also helped with our hayride this year, all of which was successful... almost. See, we ask random people who go through our attraction which was their favorites and at the end of the year, cash prizes is given out to the highest ranking ones. Now I put a ton of effort into my room, but I think I aimed too high...

See, we have a perfectly remastered boiler room with a sparking gloved Freddy... A walk in bus where you are attacked by multiple Creepers (Jeepers Creepers II) ... as well as vert noticable scenes for Leatherface, Chucky, Clown room (covering "IT" and Poltergeist) and many others. So when I came in this past year, I decided to bring to the house a horror movie that is very hot right now, SAW. I had a body with the gut cut out and a key nearby which sprang up in their face as well as a body suspended in barbwire. They then came down a dark hallway which had lights that came on as soon as I came at them with the SAW Pig costume on. (I even got on the local news with it. hehe)

Yet still at the end of the year, I didn't even get enough votes from our customers to rank in the top 4. Granted I didn't make a scene just the duplicated props from the movies, but other than that I don't know how else to bring these classic movies to life. Now we are getting our plans together for next year and I'm lost. Is this the end of Saw at the Haunted Chicken house? I really want to be a great scare next year but cannot figure out how to make this work. Any ideas?

Thanks for any advice and happy haunts,
    - Daniel

Thanks. I need to figure out a way to age the mask to the faded yellow color from the movie, but other than that the costume is not a problem. It's the room thats the problem. I can't decide weather or not to duplicate a movie scene or come up with a way to put the customers in a game of their own. My only problem there is that we have groups come through so fast. Any thoughts anyone on the mask or the room? Has anyone else attempted a SAW room?

I went to a haunted farm this year. They had many rooms like you and had the Saw theme kind of throughout. But the first room they had a old tv up on the wall. Playing a scean where you find out what's happening to you. Which was very good. Then they had the clown direct you into the next room. They also had the pig costume.

My favorite room out of the whole show was we had to walk through a real fridge but cut out to make it a door. When you got in the room it was all hanging dead bodies. It felt like I was in one of the many scary movies I've watched. Did the trick on me. =)
