Well we don't have any kids on Halloween here in the Netherlands but I do share a bit of my american culture with our dutch friends and family every year with our halloween party.
It does make me a bit homesick to read the posts about how much fun you all have on halloween night with your haunts and trick or treaters. But I do notice that halloween is slowly becoming more popular here. There are halloween decorations in the stores in october and pumpkin carving for kids...so who knows, maybe one day I'll get a tricker treater at my door
We made a few props for this year's party. Simple things since we didn't have much time. Not nearly as elaborate as the headless waiter from last year. But the guests seemed to really enjoy them. Here are a few videos I made of them. The tombstone peeper was a tribute to an american friend of mine who just moved back to the states...Kelly. She won the best costume contest almost every year. The simple transformation box seemed to get the most comments and interest.
And thanks DJChrisbaker for helping with the skeleton voice.

The tombstone peeper was easy to make. The hands are made from bent wires that I covered with clay and painted white. The rest is just a wiper motor, pvc pipe, a styrofoam head with a mask on it. I put the shear fabric over the head and under the mask because from certain positiions, you could see the pipe. The fabric solved that problem. Just had to make sure it didn't get caught in the wiper mechanism. The peeper video on my site shows the back side of the peeper and how the motor moves the pipe.
We built the transformation box based on the instructions on this site:
http://thehorrordome.com/HDPROPS/Transbox1.htm
The instructions were easy to follow...even Pieter could follow them with his limited knowledge of english. You do need to know a bit about wiring since you have to wire light sockets inside the cans...basic wiring though. The box itself was easy enough to build. We did run into the same problem icemanfred had which was the setting of the lights. We ended up putting a slider inside the box by the holes so we could regulate how much light came through. We slid the slider piece over the hole until we got the right amt of light needed for the effect. Another thing we discovered the hard way was that you need the same size objects. We started with one object that stuck out further than the other object.
If you decide to make them and need any help, feel free to email me.

All I can say is wow! I am really impressed. Even more impressed with the videos, I am still trying to get decent pictures to post. They were just delightful to watch.

Thanks.
Most of the video was shot by the guests. I didn't have time to take photos or video. I gave the video cam to the vampire and asked him to at least do a walk about with it. Next thing I knew, Darth Maul had it, then the ballplayer...etc. It was really fun to watch the video the next day as I had no idea what would be on it lol I think they all did a much nicer job than I could have done.
