I just visited a non-halloween board I'm a member of and came across this post:

A poster complained about new neighbors decorating for Halloween - said that they were out of control and tacky. The basic display was of a graveyard, with stacks of hay and a scarecrow up high, and skeletons and giant spiders were added. Strobe lights, red spot lights, a FCG on the porch and a witch in a rocking chair completed the display.

Poster went on to day that it's just tacky to decorate a house like that as it's "just Halloween."

Speculation was made about what these new neighbors will do for Thanksgiving and Christmas, and mentioned that they'l probably have a bunch of pilgrims chasing a giant turkey around the yard.




So who was it? Cause you're pissing off your neighbors. Shame!

(I answered back with pics of my own house, and that they'd probably hate living next to me too. Also, that it sounded like "tacky" neighbors had a pretty kick-@ss display! I phrased it nicely, cause not everyone likes decorating, but still - to MANY people, Halloween IS a big deal)

That's funny! For something they find soooo tacky, they sure studied it enough to remember a lot of details!

I just think they are jealous.

I wish it was my display. Jeeze the nerve of some people she is the worst anti Halloween person I have ever heard. If I was living across this street from this person I would do the whole Pilgrim and Native American just so I could spread the spirit

My neighbors only complain when I set up 100's of little white crosses on my lawn for memorial day....just kidding....but hell I think 99% or us would LOVE to live next to that house and help!

Two of my neighbors complain ... that I have set the bar too high for them to compete with !! Thankfully I have not had any negative comments. Wish it was my haunt though ... could use more skeletons !!!! ... but the thought of thanksgiving decor gives me an idea... anyone have an "how to" on corpsing a bucky to look like a pilgrim ??? and is it possible to make a raven look like a turkey ??? ... lol

I had one of my neighbors at the party and caught the other one taking photo's before the party began

Our neighbors are trying to sell their home, I don't think they are fans. They called the day after our party early in the morning asking for a copy of the bylaws for our neighborhood.
