This is a picture of the front of the house from a couple of weeks ago.
This is that same picture - roughly modified in Paint - to illustrate what I came across this morning as I set out with my son to take down the haunt.
The thing weighs a good 50 lbs - they probably had to use a car; first time in 8 years.
Hope it looks nice, wherever the unwashed mofos put it.
Next year, I'm thinking GPS trackers in my gargoyle(s)...
...and, then, the hunters become the hunted.
Good times, as always.

That's just awful!

I always wonder what will disappear. Thankfully so far, nothing has been taken but we usually set up the day of halloween and take it down that night or the next day. This coming year we're going to be doing a month long set-up and I'm a bit worried.

Thanks guys.
It wasn't expensive; I'm just hopeful I can find a matching one next year and get it at the same price.
We do the month-long thing every year, and I've never really concerned myself too much with someone taking stuff. The gargoyles were untouched for all of October; and then one of them gets lifted during the wee hours of November 1st, thus awakening my bloodlust.

I was sitting here staring at the photos like it was an issue of Highlights trying to find the differences

That's horrible, but I'd say it's a pretty good run of luck if it's been eight years without an incident. Good luck in getting it replaced and if nothing else, look into anchoring stuff for next year.

I hope that they hurt something when they picked it up.

That really sucks. I'm so sorry this happened to you. I know exactly how disheartening it feels. After you calm down, try to realize how much your haunt means to hundreds of people out there. Don't let one or two morons spoil it for you or anyone else.
