I am in Atlanta GA metro. Was very happy that all the trick or treaters waited for dark. The nite was perfect about 68 degrees. Had 170 kids make it up to the porch and about 200 adults that came to see the house. Everything worked perfect and it was 2007 Halloween will go done as my best one yet. Rick

We had just under 200 kids and the rain held off until 10pm here in Toronto...actually Brampton but no-one knows where that is. Things finished up at 8:30. Guess that was becuase it is getting darker sooner...

Expected the usual 40 or so. We have an 8PM curfew for TOT. I actually counted this year for the first time. Got 75, counting all of the kids and the adults in costume. I didn't count the adults not dressed up accompanying the kids who were. I decorated more extensively than ever before. Don't know if this accounts for the increase. Weather was chilly and somewhat windy but no damage. All in all not too bad for our little town of "Mayberry."
For the little ones that didn't say the magic words, I politely reminded them, "What do you say?" For the older ones, I simply said, "Ya gotta say it first." They all obliged with "Trick or treat" except for a group of four and five year olds. When I asked, "What do you say?" the first one said "Thank you" before I even gave her any candy. The rest followed suit. I had to give them candy. Yeah, I'm a big softy.

Our numbers were down from last year, with just over 400 TOt's. A good showing nonetheless, but I'm curious as to why we had less kids, given the great weather. There was a martial arts studio down the street sponsoring an "alternative event" to "celebrate the light and not the dark". A lot of my TOt's heard the sound and saw the lights and came to my house instead!

Handed out all of our 120 goody bags by 7:30pm, went to the store, bought 5 more bags of candy, ran out by about 8pm, went out and bought 6 more...used about 3 of those for the remainder of the night...
...and handed out about 150 glow bracelets...
Did not expect this many kids - 120 bags handled last year pretty well...I will have to expect more next year.Hell is an eternity of getting up at 4am to nothing but decaf coffee...
2009 photos and 2008 photos ...uhmmm...and what I have evolving...

373, we were handing out 1 "piece" of candy per TOT. some were repeats, but we are counting candy. so 373 instances of giving out candy.
repeats were less than 20 though."Trick or treat" is not a greeting, it's an ultimatum ~ Spats
