There was a woman in our neighborhood dressed as a witch trying to get kids to take an onion out of one of her baskets on the porch. Too funny!! The look on some of the kids faces when she offered them an onion!!!....she did give candy too
on another note, I am patting myself on the back next.....my neighbor (only us and them on our street) said to me that they never had trick or treaters before, until we moved in (we moved in August 2006) !!!! We ran out of candy and started giving out charlie brown fruit snacks!!! Yey me!

All the ToT's were wonderful this year. All were in costume & the majority said thank you with huge smiles on there faces. (even while being a little scared) I had such a warm heart by 9pm I thought I'd just burst!
Alot of the kiddos forgot to say trick or treat cuz they were so busy staring at all the decor & me all painted up & talking funny. (look at my avatar) Too bad nobody wanted to come in for a spell.

I would agree heartily... however, there are those very few exceptions who cross the line into "out of bounds" territory. It is hard to handle them - do you respond in kind? Do you have someone ELSE beat the tar of of them? Do you make a scene? I think your approach is best - smile, move along and forget about the brats. Dont ruin it for the rest of the kids and adults participating (including yourself).
Overall - this halloween was a fabulous success... even the one *problem* child could not taint what was the most fun I have had in years.
