How do you keep these damn things up? Any wind at all sends them over. I've tried sticking them in the ground with stakes and wire hangers. It's no use. Right now, they're leaning against bushes. Pretty lame IMO. That's another reason why I want to create my own.

I created my own using the typical home insulation foam and they are just anchored to the ground using PVC over rebar. As long as the rebar sits about 12" - 18" out of the ground, it has always held perfectly for me.

I used yard pickets painted gray and staked behind the stones, and then small strong branches shoved in front. It was a quick fix, and cheap as I had the pickets on hand and tree branches everywhere.

PVC and rebar.
Either hollow out and insert PVC into the stone or attach it to the back of the stone with adhesive, and paint it.
Another way is to drive wooden stakes into the ground and secure your stone to that.

I would get cheapo chopsticks from the 99 cent store or something, tap them into the ground about 2/3 of the way, and then stick the tombstones on top.
might not work for all, but works for me...Feels like...somebody just walked over my grave. Did you find it?

I use a piece of 1/4" or 3/8" plywood glued to the back with foam adhesive and a wood stake drove into the ground. I do like the pvc idea because the wood stakes are hard to drive at times but never blow over even in high winds.
