Hi,
I have two strobe lights that sit on my front covered porch. The temps are ranging from about 50f to 35f over the next few days.
Can my strobe lights sit on my covered porch overnight or should I be bringing them inside?
I have the same question about my fog machine.
Will the morning "dew" or cold air hurt those types of electric items?
Thanks,
Rich

They probably won't be hurt, but I would bring in the fog machine. I also wouldn't fret with it being left out. Are you getting a heavy dew?
I have left stuff much more expensive outside with no issues. My blackberry got rained on, and it still works. ;-)

They shouldn't mind the temp's. Couldn't hurt to throw a sheet of plastic over them to keep 'em dry, though. Any possibility of thievery in your neighborhood?
I...have many names...

The thing to remember is if there is a big change in the temp, that can cause moisture to build up inside the equipment (even if there is no dew).
This means that it is best to wait until the equipment has warmed up and is dry before turning it on.
That kind of moisture mostly happens when something cold is brought into a warm place suddenly, but it will happen to a small degree with any change of temp.
Just give it an hour at stable temp before turning on.
If it IS on and running, it will be producing it's own heat, and should stay dry inside even if the temp changes.

I've had strobe lights, police lights and a torch flame on my covered porch for the last month. No problems so far.
