Have you ever had one of those days???
Well, mine was yesterday. It was so bad, I almost took everything down and said "To hell with this!"
We came back from church and decided to have a dry run, so I started plugging everything in.. mind you, I had already checked everything before it was put out. First this was minor, my witch's nose started falling off her face. I figured, Hey adds more character. Then one of my spotlights started melting. The bulb was touching the cheap plastic casing and it started smelling. Ok, we'll have to replace that. Now comes the major stuff. I had tried to hook up my Tree Trunk TCT to a motion detector the night before and it didn't work, so we decided to get a remote control and work it that way. So I hooked it all up and I noticed there was a leak in the tubing, and wouldn't you know it, it was in a place I could not reach without having to take apart the entire thing!! OK, OK not a disaster, yet. Then my CO2 regulator burst... AAAAAAAHHHHH NOOOOOO!!!! So now my first prop was gone!! I have a compressor, but it makes so much noise I bought the regulator which was completely quiet. And it was working just 2 weeks ago!!
I went inside to watch the Bucs game, and to pout!! Then I remembered I had left everything pluggin. OK, well this would test to make sure that everything else would work for the duration of the haunt. I went to check on stuff, OK... OK... Wait, WHERE IS MY FCG??? @#$#@!~@#$!@ My FCG had broken off. I assumed that while my daughter was in that corner doing her laundry, she inadvertantly stepped on something she shouldn't have and the FCG got tangled up. The motor was still running but the ghost was on the floor. AARRGGHHH!!! I tried to put her back up and the hook I used for the top of her head came right off. THAT's IT!!!! I'VE HAD IT. I had to get outta there. I cried all the way to Lowe's I was soo mad.
I bought a longer hook that was not coming out. And luckily, it only took me about 20 minutes to string her back up again. One crisis averted.
Then we started to work with my Boris that we hacked at out last Make and Take. After getting the sound right I plugged him in... and he breaks!!! WTF is going on today. I opened him up to see if there was anyway to get to the gears to see if I could fix it. NOPE, nicely sealed up. So I went to the forums and learned about Big Lots sale that started Saturday. Well, at least I did pick up another Boris, but definitely doesn't look as impressive as the other I had.
Then to finalize my day, my son, who is supposed to be my final line of attack at the end of the haunt, tells me he has to work until 8pm, maybe later. And then he's going to a Halloween party.
What else... what else... come on, hit me with something else. Why not, today is the day.
So now, I need to find something for my first scare, which would have been my TCT, and someone to replace my final scare!! MAN, WHAT A DAY!!

There will come a time when you have a chance to do the right thing.
I love those moments. I like to wave at them as they pass by.

This wind we're having in central florida is not helping....
I'll join in the non rain dance also for the tampa bay area.
My porch ghost is getting the ecto plasm kicked out of it by this wind also.

I know what you mean, the cool weather feels great though. Finally. I went to a haunted house last night around the Seven Springs area called "Terrortown".. awesome haunt! Just needed to get away from my problems for a while. anyway, the wind there was wreaking havack on their place, but it was holding up pretty good. When we got home, which is about 10min away, no wind whatsoever. The trees were'nt even moving!! go figure!
