O.K... Today at work I was discussing Halloween decorating with my co-workers. I was explaining to them that a lot of people complain about Halloween Haunts being too graphic or inappropriate. Just look at all the threads here recently about people being forced to take down their Halloween decorations because of different church groups or prudes in general not liking them.

We were talking about my skeletons I have been looking for (which I finally got for next year). Then we started putting the two holidays together.

How unethical would it be to combine Christmas and Halloween. I told them I would put my 6 1/2' skeleton in the front yard with a Santa Clause hat on. In his red bag of goodies, would be open presents... of various body part props..severed heads, fingers, legs, ribs, brains. Maybe the skeleton would be holding Santa's head in his hand. lol.

I also could get one of those homemade wooden reindeer that most people have and add some ribs and bones...make it look like a reindeer skeleton.

Somehow make a Snowman with his snow (skin) melting off...leaving a PVC skeleton of some sort.

I have an evergreen tree in the front yard...how about a dozen or so shrunken heads for ornaments...

We were throwing ideas around left and right to be funny, and I thought it would be one hell of a Christmas, as long as it wasn't too gory. Just use skeletons everywhere. Then have someone ask me to take my Christmas decorations down...lol

Why is your grim reaper up in December? Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come, of course!

You could always do the Nightmare Before Christmas thing, too. Decorations and presents as if Jack had finished the job.

my oversized friend, he stands about 5'10 and weighs well over 350. He came up with this idea, he said for your haunt. I will play santa clause wielding a chainsaw holding an elves head and screaming I had it with you kids and christmas HA HA HA HA HA!
I laughed now that would be great I just dont think it would be approprate.

Wow that's a crazy idea! It's like some kind of holiday nightmare! Some kind of nightmare before Christmas or something.

Yeah, if you kept out the blood, guts and gore...I think it could be pretty cool. I'm gonna try it this year...My 6 foot skeleton will have a cotton beard and a santa hat...reindeer bones...I even have little 3' skeletons to use as elves... Hope it don't cause too much of a stir... but it will be fun

Ya know if it was done right, subtle and not tacky, it could really work.

Like someone said, Nightmare before Christmas-like.

Last year we had freddy in a santa hat as our x-mas tree. Years ago I wanted to do a santa crash scene but my mother wouldnt let me at the time, crashed sleigh and a dead santa with dead reindeer all over the yard.

Freddy X-mas tree....that would be awesome... hang stockings off of his glove.

maybe I could get some boxes outside under the tree with skeletons coming out of them. Not too gore-ish. have to do some more research on Nightmare before X-mas...

    Any other ideas?

Doesn't that go against everything the Xmas season stands for?! /Sarcasm

Cool idea. If you do a search, there's been other members that've done Halloween at Xmas and posted pics. Bonemen & skelly reigndeer would be too fun!
