Thread: Our Yard Haunt was Vandalized

Many of you already know about a prop of ours being stolen a couple of weeks ago. And now this. GRRRRRRRrrrrr

I am absolutely furious right now. They tried to pull two of our impaled bluckies out of the ground. I guess they didn't realize that the stakes were buried about a foot into the ground so all they managed to do was make them lean over.

But that's not the worse of it.

They also tried to knock over one of our stocks which has a Bucky in it. They managed to pull on it so hard that it pulled out all four stakes holding it into the ground and even snapped/broke the stocks almost in half. We had large chains joining one set of stocks to another set and then to our guillotine. They pulled on the first one so hard that all three of them were leaning over and about to hit the ground.

Luckily, nothing was missing/stolen this time and the stocks are repairable but I am so angry that if it weren't for all the time and expense we've put into this year and our give-aways, I'd tear it all down first thing in the morning and totally blow off Halloween.

At this point, I don't even have it in my heart any more to work on next year.

oh cassie7, I am so sorry!! I just don't understand why some people, have to be destructive. I can see why you are so angry. I hope that these jerks don't spoil your halloween , that after a little time, you get your "heart" back for next year, you do such great work it would be a shame to let the actions of a few wreck it for the ones that truly enjoy your efferts. I hope the rest of the season goes better for you, brings back the reason of why we all do this!

Oh my gosh...you just need to sit outside with some crocadile caps...lol

Do it for yourself next year and set up in the back yard.....getting hard to do anything anymore!

That is some real sad news. I hope the people involved hurt themselved trying to mess up your display. Jack may be right. Next year set it up for your own enjoyment. But don't let the acts of a few get you down. This forum and people that enjoy Halloween far out number the people that try to ruin Halloween for others.

Twice in one year I can understand why you are so upset. Don't let them get the best of you. Do it again next year and prove that what happened this year is no biggie ( I know it is though) . I have read that a lot of people here wait till the big day to put out their props, maybe thats an ideal that you can toss about in your head for next years haunt.

Cassie7, I'm sorry to here about your misfortune, I know how you feel, the center piece of my display, a demon priest, was just stolen 2 nights ago, last year, my old lady in a casket was destroyed by vandels, and the year before that my baen sidhe was trampled. I'm strongly considering not putting out a display anymore.

You need infrared security cameras, motion detector floods, and the desire to prosecute to the fullest extent of the law. I would capture the sob's and have them arrested.

At this point, all I can say is that I am just sick about it.

I detest low life scum. I say catch the sob's and make them part of your corpse display. Hey you can never have two many corpses.

Personally, I had a 4' black light stolen from my haunt. I have installed two fake motion cameras with flashing LED (purchased from Harbor Freight) and some signs (Warning this house is being monitored by security cameras). Since than I have not had a problem.
