Thread: No Menards Haunted House

According to a Menards manager, due to the "remodel" (where it now not only looks like a warehouse, it feels like one - so bad) they won't be having a haunted house this year.

It's the small things in life that get ya through. Their small haunted house was the first one my girls would go in, the kind of 'starter' house that we could all go through as a family. Not really gorey, just cool haunted house feel and a few surprises around each corner. Ah well, at least the space will be put to good use displaying all that Xmas junk...

I see your in central Illinois...no chance Springfield? We had one at ours last year, which was decent for a "starter" for my 4 and 6 year olds... My boys hate going to the hardware store with me, unless it's Halloween at Menards.

Kinda disappointed with them this year. Both menards here have crap for decorations, and what they do have is still boxed up on the top shelf...just waiting for Halloween to get over so they can get the rest of the Christmas stuff out...

Ticks me off that they have more Christmas stuff than Halloween out now.

I don't think ours in Indiana had one either. I only went there once this year and when I saw they had crap as well and didn't even put up the cool tunnels they usually do each year, I haven't been back. I wonder if they'll notice no HUGH charges on my credit card this year!!!!

^^^I agree, since money talks, we can only hope home haunters who protest by shopping elsewhere will get a message through. And yeah, it really ticks me off that they've devoted almost a 1/4 (literally!) of their store to Xmas crap. Not having a haunted house is kind of a stake in the heart of my desire to shop there.

I'm up in Bloomington/Normal coal miner's ghost, so I don't get down to Springpatch much. Maybe we can arrange a Make N' Take for summertime if there's any interest from some of the others in the surrounding areas/states.

Just got back from Menards again...all their Halloween Stuff has been condensed down to 1 small isle... but they have 6 isles of Halloween stuff out.

I'm kinda ticked, well not I actually am p'ed off. Halloween isn't even over. But the good thing is...all their Halloween stuff is 33% off. The only thing I saw was a $24 fog machine at 33% off. Just might pick that up if I wasn't so mad right now. WHo am I kidding, as soon as the boy gets off the bus we're gone.

Wal Mart has like 6 adult costumes, very few childrens costumes and a couple decor items... I asked an associate and she claims they sold out of everything, but I doubt it.
