That's one of my biggest fears on Halloween night. We don't have a haunt, so if we ever were to run out, we'd have to close our doors and turn off the lights. Has never happened so far and I'm hoping it will stay that way

Has it ever happened to you?

I wish I had that problem. I only get about 20-25 kids at my house. But if I did it wouldn't be an issue as we have both a 24 hour grocery store and a 24 hour pharmacy 5 mins away.

Last year at the wee hours of the night we ran out after around 400 tot'ers. Good thing my kids were sleeping, I stole from there candy bags to replenish handouts. They didnt now.
This year we will be more prepared.

    Yes, our first year here.

I blame it on cell phones.

We asked around, got told typically 75 tot. We bought 100. And it was a clear demarcation there somewhere when suddenly towards the end of the night CARS started stopping and dropping kids off. My wife had to run to the store and buy some extra. No advertising on our part, several carloads mentioned they 'heard' about our place and had to come see. Wasn't ready for that quick of word of mouth. Think it ended up being 180 or so TOT that year.

Two years in a row we ran out. The last 2 years I bought TONS and the last 2 stragglers that came by got all that was left in the bucket. They were so happy to be the last ones! lol!

That's what I'm afraid of this year. We just moved to the neighborhood a few months ago and have nothing to gage the crowd off of. This is my first year decorating too so I don't know if it will attract extra ToTers.

We ran out two years ago and it was awkward to say the least. We had expanded our walk through and got way more people than we anticipated (over 400). Kids and parents were walking through and when they came to where the candy was being handed out we had to tell them we ran out. Some were okay with it and just appreciated the display. A few seemed put out. Last year we bought extra and had 520 TOT's with just a few candy bars left. This year I'm planning for 600 to be safe. It won't go to waste and like someone mentioned, the last few kids get loads of stuff!

We've never actually run out, but you can tell by the pouty faces when the ToTs come up and we're on our "second tier" of candy - most kids are polite, but you can tell they had expected 'the good stuff'. This year I've budgeted more for first tier, so everybody should get something good that they'll be excited about finding in their stash the next day!

My first hear I started doing up my house I got hammered more than I expected. Thankfully a friend called and I was able to get a mid air refueling of candy. I would have been killed if I ran out..... Ever since then I've over stocked and had lots of extras.
