A bottle of that schnapps drink, "Poison" or the other ones (Viper) or the Vampyre wine.

Do you have a Walgreens near you?
They have all kinds of decor stuff that's $10 and under. Small hanging ghouls, tabletop stuff, etc. They had these small ghouls that were around $7 that were on sale, you could have him holding a bag of candy, or even better a Lindtt chocolate bar.
(oh...we weren't talking about me though)

Wow i wish i had friends like you. I throw my party every year, spend a good few hundred $$ and lots of my time and energy to show everyone a good time and i don't recall i've ever even heard a 'thanks'. Now that i think about it, that kinda depresses and annoys me haha.

Ive been on that side of the fence as well OMGDan, actually this is the first Halloween party invite Ive ever gotten, Im usually the one throwing the party lol Now that I think about it, I dont recall every hearing 'thank you' either
hmmm Anyway, I can tell she put a lot of time and energy into the invites, I imagine the party will be the same. A gift would be my way of saying "thanks' cause I know how much goes into a Halloween party

How about Halloween themed oven gloves, pot holders or dish towels?

I'm grateful, I get a lot of thanks. They look forward to it each year. Probably why 12 years later I'm still hosting them.
People offer to bring food, but I politely say no. If everyone brought food (70 invites) I'd have an even bigger mess to clean up.
I usually get only one gift a year - a small bag of halloween candy. That's ok, though.
OMGDan - I don't think people have even the smallest clue how much it costs. I bet I spend $175 just for the food, punch, plates, napkins & such.

The dutch tradition is flowers for the hostess. I had to be sure to tell all my guests...please no flowers unless they are dead
Mostly they bring wine or other types of liquor as a gift. I've also gotten halloween decorations as a hostess gift and even squishy eyeballs once lol
