Thread: odd room ideas.

My asylum haunt has all the basic rooms. I have a operrating room, cells, mourge, room with beds, bathroom, and a doll room, I am in need of five more room ideas. I need these rooms to be strange, scary, and very odd, If anyone has any off the wall room ideas let me here them. I have 12 days to pull this off. please help.

hummm i dont know how you could do that but hands and arms coming our of the walls everywhere in a room or with heads like the people are traped in the walls screaming to get out like a wall is stretching when the hands arms and head try and pull out of it ? you could do it in all white so you light it with a blue flood so you got then a neat shadow effect at the same time ?????

i just dont know how you could achive that maybe white linens or large draps to act as the streching walls , styrofoam heads in male and female for the heads but the arms and hands i have no clue ...but that sure would be a cool room

please keep the ideas coming.

lets see...how about a room with blood all over the walls(white walls) with a blood covered bed and a scary type lady on the ceiling looking down with a arm in its mouth with strobes pointing on her and glowing hands on the walls too!

room with bugs or spiders and snakes ? last year while decorating and putting up my spiderwebs and pastic spiders in them i did one that was coming down and i didnt even think twice about it after putting it there but stupid me i scared myself silly coming in the front door because the flood light lighting the porch blew up the spider shadow (i am dead scared of spiders so ) it made me jump all halloween season......so maybe you can also play with that and the bugs room ....

i know someone in this forum did a room full of flies .....maybe if you decide to do that ask how to in the prop section , i dont remember who it was ......

How about black spandex walls with actors on the other side to push through. This is a really simple but cool efffect that a comercial haunt I used to work at did. Just dont push youre face into it, it can get kinda painfull. Dont ask me how I know.

thats a cool idea .....it is kinda what i was thinking with the heads and arms pulling out of the walls .

These ideas are great anyone have any more?

Maybe a room draped in black material with no light but a black light and use white decorations or scarey stuff in the room - wow typed out that sounds lame, but I just LOVE a black light.

I have a couple of favorites...

One is a remake of Halloween. It's the living room, with a tv going and static on the screen. You are expecting someone to be in there so you look around and under a room separator you see the tips of two boots sticking out, of course you think to yourself...wow I found him...his isn't going to scare me. meanwhile michael myers walks out of a door behind you and scares the life out of you.

Second is a room with a woman crying asking for help. "Please help me! He's coming to get me. Someone needs to help me please." Just then a character barges into the room grabs the woman, pretends to slit her throat, drops her to the ground and starts to come after the visitors to your haunt. Of course they go running.
