My husband actually encourages me to go hog wild in getting whatever I want for Halloween. We have not had a chance this year to create any props together but next year for sure.
We're total Halloween nuts and our family thinks we're freaks, lol!!
How about yours?

I start decorating in September. By the end of the month he is finally starting to see what my theme is and then he come up with ideas on his own. He is also very slow in getting the projects done that I have asked for help on, but once they are done, they are pretty awesome.
He is no where near as entranced as I am over the holiday.

I get really into it starting in September, but my wife always makes me wait until Oct. 1 to put anything out. She usually loves what we end-up with, but doesn't always like that I'm off working on some prop or decor. Lately, even when she's not helping me build, she stays around me while I'm working so we can talk and just hang-out. Overall she's very supportive...as long as I don't overdo it on the budget.
My kids LOVE it! They're the talk of the school and the neighborhood, so it's definitely something they are into.BigGeek (Chris)

My hubby loves Halloween & really gets into it once October rolls around, but not before then.
We've worked on alot of things together the past couple weeks, so that's been fun!
The big difference between him & I, which follows through into every other part of our lives is that I'm a planner & he's the wing-it type. That can make things a little interesting at times.

Well, I don't technically have a spouse, but since my girlfriend and I own a home together, I think she qualifies for the purposes of this thread.

She's fine with my Halloween obsession so long as it doesn't interfere with helping around the house, and it shouldn't. Usually just smiles and nods ans says, "Yes dear. That's nice"
I'm a night person and she's in bed by 10 every night so it's not hard for me to find the time to work on props every day whilst not interfering with anything. It's really quite nice.
That being said, she enjoys Halloween too and I think I'm starting to rub off on her though. She's starting to make a couple of props of her own now.
Then there's our dog. This is her first Halloween with us so I'm not sure how she's gong to take having her yard taken over by my cemetery. But as long as there are cookies involved I suspect she'll be ok with it. LOL!

I wasn't going to, but she got her a spider costume. I expect it to last no more than 5 minutes before the dog removes it herself if her first experience with a life vest is any indication. LOL! If it gets through the "get this off of me" stage in the first 5-10 minutes, she'll be all set.
We'll see.
She's pretty bouncy too. So I'm not quite sure what the plan for her is going to be. I imagine she'll be on her leash in the garage with my girlfriend in "Not So Scary Land". Having her in the cemetery just wouldn't work out well.

Well I have not been married to the new husband very long but I did warn him ahead of time about my delirious decorating habits. He's really fine with everything and we do spend a lot thru the year buying things. With him being disabeled the way he is he really can't do anything. Thats where the "Ex-Husband" comes in. He builds everything for me and this year with all the health complications with me & my slip 4 weeks ago, man I can't even get on the ladder.
SO the EX put up all the decorations on the ceiling (poor man). In our house 50% of the decorations are on the ceiling and as I mentioned last year......putting fabric on the ceiling is one heck of a job in a house full of senior citizens.
So all in all I got it pretty good cause the new hubby does not get excited about Holidays but the EX .....he's willing to build and put up anything!
As for the dogs that reside here.......No costumes for these guys, they bite so they have to stay in the back bathroom all night on Halloween. Last year they howled all night. TOT's said >>>>"Jeez that sure sounds real!"......my reply>...."Thats the house werewolf!". Really great sound affects!!!

Dh was the one that first said "How cool would it be if we got married on Halloween?"

He loves it; it's his favorite holiday. I just happen to be a little more enthusiastic than him when it comes to decorating and creativity/prop building, but he's happy to pitch in. We have no problems discussing Halloween stuff at ANY time of year!
And you wouldn't know it to look at either of us... kind of like Wednesday's costume in the movie version of The Addams Family - "I'm a homicidal maniac, they look just like everyone else."
