I went to check our mailbox this morning and part of one of our props is missing. They took the rat and leg bone of this prop:

I put a sign out front that reads "A thief stole my prop and wants to ruin Halloween. Please help us find the thief!!"

I doubt anything will come of it but it's worth a try.

I am so freaking mad right now.

Even though I live in a better neighborhood...I still will not put up any outdoor props for that reason until the big day!

Last year, for the first time in over a decade of decorating - someone stole a mask off one of the props in my front yard. This really hurt and upset me. I hadn't worried much about this for years, because no one ever messed with anything. It had to have been done by one of the same local kids who comes to my house on halloween night. I halfway expected to see it show up again later, but it never did. So, I feel your pain.

Now, I have some very nice props that cost a great deal and I'm not willing to risk putting them out until halloween. It's annoying and just makes the day that more hectic, but what else can you do?

Damn, I'm sorry for your loss... I really liked that prop.

    *shudder*

This kind of stuff gets me nervous... all my props are going out Saturday for a two week run. I usually run my haunts out back, and this'll be the first year in the front yard.

It's a pain but I put my cemetery out every morning and bring it in every night. I never put out my big expensive props until Halloween morning.

    People suck!!!!!!

Sorry to hear about that Cassie... Why are people so stupid? I always tell my son that, if I ever catch him doing something like that when he's older, that I would take him to that house to meet the people and apologize to them, then I would have him help them out with their decorations (Halloween, XMAS, Easter, whatever) for the next year... He's only 8, but I sure hope it will stick into his mind for a long time...

This may seem silly since your rat seems to be a large one but is it possible a dog carried it off? I only ask because I caught the neighbors small dog trying to drag off one of my plastic pumpkins, he probably thought it was a ball or something.
