Well, the party went off without a hitch Saturday night!

Out of 70 9-14 year olds invited approximately 50-55 where there!! We had kids EVERY where!! LOL

I must say, I don't have the pics downloaded yet - BUT...my grave yard was ....hellacious!!!! And I TOTALLY have you guys to thank for it!! I made the tombstones straight from sites found here....made a ROCKIN coffin that was completely my own idea and construction which I got tons of compliments on, and I was very proud of! And last but not least, the graveyard fence with good ole pvc and 1x2's - omg it was freakin amazing when it was all together! Used blue lighting like I read to do here....used lots of cob webs....and purchased 2 fog machines. I was very proud of it all!

What I'll do different next year - fog machines need help...the tubing to help evenly distribute it will be added next year. Out of money and time this year, but will need to add more buckies and creatures next year - only had one cheapo corpse coming out of the coffin. Will need to create more fence - did 4 8' pieces this year - again time and money constraint. Would like to add another 4 sections for next year. Need to get one good scary prop - would like a pheumatic jumper thingy next year! LOL

Attempt at first haunted hay ride - was fun and younger ones liked it - 12-14 yr olds said it was "lame" - *sigh* I had spookers with chain saws and one even dragged a kid off the trailer and carried him off into the woods!! That was the highlight - the kids loved it!! LOL And he picked the biggest smart ass in the group - so it was very funny!! They had fun, but certainly weren't scared.

Next year - add more spookers, only had 4...need twice that. If I'd had spookers that were never seen but threw stuff, it'd been great - esp if we had rubber snakes...the girls were freaking thinking there were snakes in the woods - if a snake had fallen on the trailer at that point, they would have crapped their pants!! ....next year....next year.... LOL

I think tv has sensationalized kids these days!! Guess I won't pull my punches next year....

All in all it was a good time - mine said it was lame, but they were all laughing and having fun, and others have told me it was a blast, so I think it was ok.
