I nieghbor the next street over , had a set up last year that was a bit lame, but he did make an attempt.
the word was he have the best yard in town (he must not of seen mine in the past)
any how after last year, he now has a MIB and wooden coffin, just like mine.
my wife was a bit PO'd, but I am on the fence. if he is copying me I must be pretty good, and hey it's getting more people into it some it good that way.
but on the flip side come up with your own set set up don't use my brain to set up your stuff.
what do you guy/gals deal with.

Your leading the pack. Just don't let them come up behind you to bite you in the arse.....Some competition is good. keeps us on our toes.....

I have the same issue here.I always save 1 or 2 suprises for halloween. That way I always have something different.
Be polite. Be professional. But, have a plan to kill everyone you meet.

the guy that lives across the street from me is somewhat similar. He made the comment that "I cant compete with that". I told him that I wasn't trying to compete just having fun. His wife made the same comment at the school carnival stating "Just you wait until next year" I said bring it, I want to fill the neighborhood with kids and haunts. Friendly competition is good all around...

I had a halloween yard sale yesterday and had a lot of people tell me that my haunt last year was thier inspiration for decorating this year. And one guy said he did a lot of decorating and somebody stole it all.

Regardless of whether or not you can make this guy a friend, he obviously admires what you've done and wants to imitate it. Let him go. Up the stakes a bit each year and be glad for the fact that he is making an effort. A new guy moved in down the street this year and a couple days ago he put out one of the big inflatable pumpkin things. While it's not my taste, I'm happy to see someone else decorate on the street. The kids walking to and from the neighborhood school see it and it gives tham one more reason to TOT on our street. Personally, I'd love to live on a street here everyone went nuts and decorated.

it would piss me off big time espacially when the 2 of you are/live so close together , ......but it also kinda sais that he likes what you do or that you have some great ideas and props.....i would still be annoyed to create all this effort and have someone so close copy it ....
just do some suprise props that he wont have time to copy...
i am lucky to be in quebec Canada in a small township , not many people go all out for halloween so makes it more special ......A Witch from Canada
