I've been wanting to go the Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia. Has anyone gone there for the "Terror Behind the Walls" haunt? If so, what were your thoughts?

Also, the small haunt in NYC - Nightmare: Ghost Stories is supposedly a lot better this year. Has anyone gone? If so, is it worth going?

FYI - They're planning a backstage tour for "Nightmare" next Monday at 6 pm.

The first year the NYC one was great; the second year it was lame. I haven't been yet this year.

We'll likely be heading down to the Headless Horseman this year as I came across some reviews for Eastern State Penitentiary and Nightmare. Reviews said that neither were scary and were more geared towards the pre-teen set.

I live outside of Philly -
Eastern State is pretty cool. Very creepy and a lot of fun.
If you're in the area, Arasapha Farms is also pretty amazing. I don't have any connection to it but I live about 10 minutes from it (pass it everyday going to work) and the hayride, maze and haunted house are amazing! If you're in the area, definitely check it out too.

OK, I am so embarrassed for New York!! It seems like we should have the bEST haunted house of all! (Not talking about Times Scare, but the one one the Lower East Side.) The first year it was genius--I heard it was all done by prop stylists and set designers. Great sets, great attention to detail, scary in a Hitchcock way. Second year--mundane, generic sets, and actors jumping out and screaming. This year? No sets whatsoever, just a 10-15 minute grope through the dark with people jumping out and screaming every so often. $25??? I'm so ashamed!
