Not sure how many folks have tried this, but I just pulled these out of storage and thought I'd mention it.
We purchased a couple of the medium sized funkins, nothing too big. We carved classic faces on them. Then we punched eight small holes in them, four on the bottom in a square, likewise four on top, opposite the bottom holes. We crossed some heavy pound test fishing line under the jack and ran the lines through the holes, from bottom to top, and tied a loop in the line about 18 inches above the jack.
Now you can add a battery operated jack 'o' lantern light or a glowstick and hang the jack from the porch, the trees, shepherd's hooks, whatever you can think of. The faces turn slowly in the wind and look great.
Some folks do this with real pumpkins, but the fishing line cuts into the flesh of the pumpkin. Also, if it's a wet or humid night, pumpkins can grow heavier with moisture absorbtion.
That's why we use Funkins for this. They're weather proof and lightweight. The real pumpkins sit on the steps or in windows.
Just another idea for the pumpkin lovers out there.

I never would have thought of that! Something else to try...
Guns kill people... just like spoons made Rosie O'Donnell fat.

Yeah, I know what you mean. When I first did it, I was surprised we didn't see them more often. Looks great and really easy.
