Halloween Decorations bring neighbors together

We just recently moved into our new house. We've been here about a month and have not met any of the neighbors yet. This week we started setting out Halloween decorations. Got a few things out early in the week, but nothing significant.

Last night I was setting out our barage of tombstones, when the neighbor to the right of us came home from work and walked over.

he introdiced himself, as did I. then while shaking my hand he says: "I'll give you $20 to stop putting decorations out. Every time you put something out my wife says 'They have more stuff than we do, we need to get more!'" We laughed and i said "We'', you're going to hate me because I haven't even put out half my stuff yet!" We had a good laugh and we talked about some of the tings and then he went inside. Later on in the evneing he came out again. I stopped him because I had a concern about where some of my lights were shining on his house. I wanted to express my concern and make shure I wasnt; bothering anyones bedroom. Turns out a light was shining into the bedroom, but he said not to worry much about it if the lights went off at a reasonable time. I still expressed my concern, and he said if a problem arises, he will let me know. Nice guy, i think i'm going to like them.

Then abotu 20 minutes later, the lady who lives next to him came over expressing how happy she was to see another person going all out for Halloween! They have a bunch of stuff up in their yard, and she was putting more up. So we talked abotu all the stuff we each do.

Halloween, it's a joyus time of year!

That's pretty sweet. I hope you don't get any cranky naighbors that will threaten to call the police. We have them and well they have to grow a friend. haha. Oh where's your pics at??

Your neighbors sound like the ones we have! We have a friendly little competition with Halloween decorations every year....and I make it a point that we win...LOL They have a grandson who loves the holiday, so we make sure to decorate even more so when we know he's coming to visit. It's nice living next door to people who understand your love for Halloween!
