Has anyone had problems with Lemax Restless tombstones? I have purchased two so far and most of the lights do not work. Everything else seems to, just not the lights. It's frustrating as the nearest michaels is 25 miles away so it's kind of hard to return things.

We picked it up, and no problems here so far.

I wish Lemax would focus a little more on durability though. I think we've got 4 "houses" that are having issues after a couple years.

I tried new batteries instead of rechargeables and they finally all came on. I agree on durability. Pieces break off pretty easily. My ship gets stuck rocking but I dont want to take it apart yet so it doesn't get turned on. I just invested in crazy glue.

hi no trouble here with it. I agree that they can stop working at any time. I had to work on a couple this year.

My bellringer on the old Madame Ashbury set got sucked up into the bellfry, and I can't get him out. It's kinda funny. Depressing but funny.

In a related question, anyone know of any kind of grease or similar for plastics (and where to get it)? Some of the older peices are starting to bind a bit.

Glue is definitely on the shopping list.

Any kind of silicone spray or white grease spray will work without harming. Do not use the kind to free stuck metal. Use silicone spray. I just bought the Witches Coven and it got stuck right off the bat. I had to keep pushing it around and then whatever was making it stick either broke or wore down so it continued on it's own. Sometimes I wish I had bought Dept 56 instead, but I know I could only get one piece a year instead of three or four. or seven. or..... I've spent way too much this year, but I got a lot of stuff at 30-40%off. A C Moore carries some of the stuff now too.

I think the same thing all the time. Something about Dept. 56 though...it just seems kinda...shiny? And the big difference in scale between the figures and the buildings bugs me a bit.

Thanks for the advice on the silicone spray - maybe I can get my mummy moving again.

I've gotten to where I have them open them with me in the store and plug them in and try them out first, before buying. I've gotten too many home that had problems and got tired of running back.
