I need to think of a way to make a outlet fade slowly in and out. I want to put my 2 red flood lights on my graveyard and slowly have the lights fade in and out so the whole yard is pitch black at moments. Any ideas how i could do this?

im doing something similar. hopefully it will work. we are having a texas chainsaw theme in one part of my haunt. before the "cornfield", there will be a drying rack with dripping blood body parts. in the beginning of the TCM movie, there is a shrieking noise. when this noise sounds lights fade in and out on corpses. so to achieve this effect we plan on using Lightning FX machine next to out TCM background music. we plan on adjusting the sensitivity so that the light fades on to the body parts only when that shriek is heard. sorry bout the long reply but i wanted to let you know exactly what we were gonna do

Interesting use of a lightning FX machine. Will it actually fade, or kick on when the sensor triggers?

Menards sells 2 channel lighting faders for around 8 bucks. I have a bunch of them that we use. They're usually with the christmas decorations, which they are usually putting out around now. The nice thing is, you can control the speed the lights dim via a knob on the front of the box.

im actually not sure how much it will fade, if at all. ive never used the FX machine so i guess we will find out. if im not mistaken fxmaster, the Lightning FX machine has an outlet to plug into a cd player so it will only react to the "sound" of the cd not any surrounding sounds such as screams, other music, etc. im assuming if the cd player is not hooked up to any speakers you could get the desired effect. but like i said i dont think it will be too much of a fade.

Digital Sound and Lighting has a cross fader for 2 300w circuits, designed for a peppers ghost application but could easliy be used to fade 2 different lights anywhere

Do I need a delay timer? Or is it good to go if I just but the fader.
