Still working on some new props for this year but thought I would post some pics from last year ...
My ghost ... head was papier mache cast of a foam skull then cut the jaw and repositioned it open ... arms are wire coat hangers .. hands also wire coat hangers wrapped in masking tape ... 4 layers of net fabric in various colors which was a yard sale find ... total cost .. about $3 worth of materials ...
The coffin .. front is about half size but the coffin lid is cut at an angle as is the sides of the coffin to make it look as if its only half uncovered ... the inhabitant is a dollar store mask attached to a wig head and the hands are made from packing peanuts then yard gloves cut up to cover the hands
another view of the coffin ...

Wanted a decent halloween cat but could only find comic ones .. so had to make one ... didnt turn out too bad I think ...
The Entrance was another yard sale find ($3) ... the cemetery sign and gargolye were made from white polyfoam ... in the background you can see my feeble attempt at a grim reaper type prop but what the h ... the mask was 99c at goodwill , the robe was from the dollar store ... so this cost me around $2.50
final pic for now ... tried to follow an how to on making extra skulls by covering one in foil and applying hot glue ... the result was pretty dreadful ... so rather than waste this ... added additional features and painted in red then flesh tone and a blue wash .. added the eyes some hair and those billybob teeth and made hands from wire and bead frames covered in papier mache
would appreciate comments but please remember this was my first year, so be gentle with me lol ...

That is pretty awesome for you first year, it will only get better every year as you buy and make more stuff.

I think you did a fantastic job! Before you know it, your attic or basement will be nothing but stored Halloween decor and people on the street will call you "that crazy Halloween guy"!
"Scare me once, shame on you. Scare me twice ... you'd better run like hell."
