My yard display may not be up by Oct. 1st.
No time all this weekend and no one to help. So of course today I get all whiney and say things like, "If you people aren't going to help me set up then just forget it! I'm not doing it by myself!". Which of course I don't really mean and they know it. So I'll probably be outside tomorrow at 8 am stretching spider webs and pounding stakes into the ground for my cemetery.
If I don't get it up tomorrow, it will be at least another week before I get another chance. Well, at least the inside of the house looks good!

I'm in the same boat.

DH's father is in intensive care, and may not make it, and we had a scare this weekend that took up most of our time that was to be spent setting up.

Hope things look up for next weekend - and I'm going to be sneaking stuff out this coming week, if my job doesn't keep me late (and FIL doesn't take a turn for the worse).I'm a Halloween Bride! 10/31/2002

Too much going on.

"I feel Your PAIN", well put jgc106, and yes Frankies Girl feel for you too.
I never realized that the fall I had 3 weeks ago was going to cause this much damn pain....thats what I hate about getting older......nothing heals fast and this week I been a mess .....its only a few days till hubbies surgery and I can't even think straight. My Ex has been great in doing all the building of projects as my hubby is a disabled Vet & cannot do anything from injuries he sustained in Vietnam.
Yesterday our neighbor died, she lives 2 doors down from us and her son lives next store(good friends) and their kids have been here all week long at our house as she was at home dying from cancer and the family has been working in shifts taking care of her so we kept the kids busy working on Halloween stuff, again my EX took over with them too.
We sure have been plugging along the last 3-4 days but honestly with all that is going on here its sure hard to be in the right frame of mind. I too was trying to get everything done in the house before we head out of town to the hospital......I'll be up there for a bit staying in a hotel.
Its so hard for some of us when no one wants to pitch in to give us a hand Madame Leota, so I do understand how you feel cause this is sure a lot of work. Thank God we have each other on this board to keep motivated and how much we all appreciate and enjoy what all of us do here. As complicated as it may get..... in the end on Halloween night as we slide into the fantasy world of it all and we see the smiles & excitement of all who come to enjoy what we do.....that is the payoff that keeps us doing what we do.
Try to keep the spirit!

I hear you Madame Leota. Same thing here....... not even one spider web is out, except for the natural ones!
Well, our Thanksgiving is coming up this weekend, so that means 3 days to run like headless chickens and try to set up everything....... Whew! How and why do we give ourselves this much trouble?!!!

We don't even start until the first usually.
We woul dhave gotten a few out yesterday, but the new house had NO electrical outlets outside, so I spent a majority of the day putting them there.
We'll slowly start setting up this week.

Well, I was right, no display up today. I woke up at 4 am with a stomach bug so I will NOT be out doing anything today! Oh well. It'll happen when it happens. This could explain why I was so whiney about everything yesterday I guess.
So I am taking the day to lay around and watch movies and plan my display down to the last detail so that when I can get started it will go a lot easier.
Happy October 1st everybody!Dear Sweet Leota, Beloved By All. In Regions Beyond Now But Having a Ball...
