Okay, so I have a bunch of different sound clips for my bottomless pit, is it possible to mix them all together somehow? I have like, evil laughter, screams, water dripping, etc. I have audacity but am not sure how to link all of these without it sounding obvious or stupid. I was kind of hoping for a background sound such as water running or fire burning continuously, then putting the other sound effects over that, (I hope that makes sense). Is this even possible?

    Totally!
1.) Start a new Audacity session.
2.) You probably have (or can get) a short fire-burning or water-running sound clip. Import that into Audacity and copy it after itself several times to make a longer file (repeating itself over and over). This can be your "background".
3.) Now import some of your other sounds. You can copy these, change them in all sorts of fun ways (just play around with Audacity), and slide them around to be where you want. You'll have several "tracks" in your session.
4.) Hit Play and hear everything! You can make any adjustments you want - move things around, make some things softer or louder, import new sounds, etc. Hold down Shift and hit Play and it will loop.
5.) Export the whole thing as a .wav or .mp3

Many people on this forum, and others, have made terrific layered soundtracks for their setups and haunts using Audacity.

In short, just fool around with Audacity! It's very easy and you'll get bold real quick.
    Wait... Did you hear that?

So I can "merge" the files together by opening all of them in the same session? Cool, I will give it a try.

I feel dumb too, so I feel your pain, lol!! I have figured out some stuff on there, like copying the same sound over and over etc. but I haven't worked with multiple sound files.

Well, I highlighted what I wanted to copy, went to "effect" at the top, went down to "repeat" and thats how I did it. Let me know if this helps.
