Hey all, I am a new member to hf.com and I just wanted tp introduce myself.

My name is Harris and I am a grad. student at Virginia Tech. I have always been into Halloween and the whole idea that surrounds it. Beginning this year, I decided to start prepping for it early (in early August) in order to get a head start.

Unfortunately, I feel like I might be burning out of it. Not of the spirit of Halloween but of the fact that I have put some focus into it every day for almost 2 months now. I know a lot of you are used to a 3 month Halloween season (or some 12 month it seems!) so my question might be here-say but I was wondering how some of you stay in the spirit for so long? I am used to about 2 weeks of it but have jumped into 3 months of it!

Thanks and glad to be on these boards ;p

Welcome to the looney bin. It just comes naturally for me, halloween stuff makes me giddy 365 days a year. I have loved it since I was little and guess I always will. Now there are the boring things like building walls and running electrical cords for months that are just impossible to get excited about, but you do it for the end result. Somehow all the screms are the fuel that keeps the fire burning.

Uhhhh ,I wasn't supposed to build props all year long....? Hmmmmmm, maybe I'll try that "work" thing then....LOL .Yep welcome to the forum for halloweenitis & it's faithful looney's! I usually build props on & off all year & gather ideas from the members here & other sites. Mainly try to set- it -up from whatever i built previous years ,like getting more into pc prop controlled automation, better prop designs & construction etc. My Buddy retired & sold his house last year that we did big for over 20 years,so I am a little offset this year as to were & if i will have a place to help haunt up....but i still keep building.....
When you look in the mirror at midnight,....what looks back at you.........

What you need is some fellow-travelers. Most people like the social aspect of this sort of thing (although I prefer to work alone so my own twisted vision doesnt get diluted by the smiling-frankie types). It also gives you more options on what you can attempt. And any girl who likes this sort of activity would also surely turn out to be interesting in...other ways (nudge, nudge).

Welcome Sapper. I hope things are more back to normal there at Virginia Tech, still thinking about all of you.

To answer your question, my blood is black and orange, I bleed Halloween. I have stuff out year round of Halloween and it will also die with me (have a tattoo of a pumpkin). If you stick around here year round you know you're definitely infected with the Halloween bug.

    Purely and simply evil
