Ok so i've been in a nutshell lately and just found out the Daylight Savings Time ends on Nov.4 this year. Normally it's the week or weekend before Halloween. This throws a HUGE wrench into me opening the haunt At 6pm this year, because i NEED darkness. Anyone else finding them sleves in a bind because of this.

Yes, it will not get dark until about 7pm leaving only an hour of spookiness during ToT time.
Don't Fear The Reaper...They move up the drive past Jason, Freddy, Michael. *The mad doctor leers at them. *They pass the Reaper holding a very real scythe, suddenly he moves toward them...screams...omg that one's alive!!!!

The way I see it I get an extra hour to prepare. We are never ready ahead of time due to the fact we work all day. Can't wait till 2009 when we get a Saturday, for Halloween.

My city does not have a trick or treat time we get the last guest at about ten. One year though we had a line of people At 12.00 Am I was putting people through my haunt On nov. the 1st.It was great until the nighbors said they werecalling the police. I had to turn half the people away. The ones that got turned away got handfuls of candy, and the ones that went through the haunt just got the haunt. As long as people come I don't close until I'm forced to.
Getting back on topic I read in another post that in newark it should start getting dark at 6:15
Since I live pretty close to newark I don't I'm in to much trouble. day light savings just means I will have a little longer to show my actors fire exits, fire exstingushers, flash lights, emergency light switches, ect. Aslo I will have time to let my actors pick the rooms they want to scare in. If I have any free time I will use It to get my adreniline going. The extra light will give me time to do the things I won't want to do if it was time to scare.
Build it and they will come.

OK well did a test. Sunset in my area was 6:57 pm and it was dark enough for the haunt at about 725 or so. Halloween sunset is 6:07 so that put me right at 6:30 which was what time we started the haunt last year. All Should be good.
