Thread: my setup for this year

let me start by saying hi, i have been lurking on here for awile but never posted. this is my second year doing anything other than answering the door lol. last year i had a 400 watt fog machine a few tombstones and some hay and got a great response as i was really the only one in the neighborhood with anything, so this year i decided to go as big as time and money would allow ( parents not big on letting me wipe out my account )

this year i am setting everything up around our steps and porch ( about 8 steps up to an 6X6 porch ) and in the yard just to the side, i am using PA speakers hidden in the gardens on both sides of the steps for stereo background music, with a separate speaker and channel on the porch. i am building a small grave yard in the yard ( about 5 stones ) with a blue flood light and red accent light. on the left side of the steps will be a fog chiller cauldron with a green pond light at the bottom, next to the cauldron i will have a pneumatic witch using the same set up as the trash can trauma props but with out the trash can, on the right side of the steps will be about 5 hay bails stacked in pyramid form with jack-o-lanterns on top, one of them will have a fog machine and strobe run into it. once up the steps the t.o.ts will hear a steady heart beat then a voice will say "WELCOME WE HAVE BEEN EXPECTING YOU" with an evil laugh then an electric-chair sound will play in-sync with strobes on the inside of the glass door. i will be watching out a large window and watching a computer screen with cameras, i will control the audio with a computer and everything else on a lighting controller with momentary switches.

thanks for the support, i will definitely post pics. i have been working with audio and experimenting with animatronics for awile i had just never applied it to halloween.

yeah thats cool your getting into it. I'm 18 and do a full yard display and walkthrough.

Three things I like about your post, guitarist155... firstly, you are a guitarist (apparently); I've been playing pro for 30 years myself. I offer you a knowing nod and a heartfelt wish for good intonation, one player to another.
Secondly, you spelled 'definitely' correctly. I see 'definately' all over the web all the time. Makes me nuts. You restore my faith in basic spelling skills of our younger folks.
Thirdly, and MOST importantly, you're all freaked out and hepped up over Halloween! NOTHING'S cooler than that. I'd love to see pics, and I wish you the best of Halloweens this year; with an ever-growing haunt and your enthusiasm, I can't imagine anything less for you this year!
