You know man when I was a kid I would have been considered a "snob" lol because I paid attention to detail, wasn't scared all that much thus I wanted things to look SO SCARY that it would be a Halloween to remember. As I grew older I moved on and left Halloween behind me (around 18 yrs of age) and got into technology, partying, music scene BUT then the young person in me kept crawling back I guess....I started getting into horror flicks again....wanted to see what the new generation of kids were dressing up as...put up decorations...AND make sure I once again was the king of my block when it came to the scariest...most decorated house!

I am back into Halloween full swing now hence why I joined this board last year...and just as I did as a kid I nit pick and want more people in Ontraio (Canada) to bring that special "element" back to the season and put in work.

So I believe you're not a snob just someone who can keep a tradition flowing.

I know there are people just as attached to their hobbies like Christmas Villages, and Model Trains. SOme people get your hobby and some don't . NO it doesn't mean you are a snob.

I agree with Jackielantern. To ramp up your own efforts is fine...but to call someone ELSE'S efforts generic or lame drifts towards the snobbish side. (I really HATE that! )

Making the most of your display...heck...just HAVING a display is what it's all about!
