Well the best days of the year are about to start! I have taken some days off to make a long weekend so I can start setting up my Halloween display. I have taken Septmeber 28 and October 1st off just so I can get a leg up on Halloween. That should give me some time to think of new items for the haunt.
Do the rest of you have problems waiting for October? I really have all kinds of nervous energy until I get the first peice out in the yard.
"Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn, and cauldron bubble. Double, double toil and trouble-- Something wicked this way comes "
Yesterday I made my "No Parking" "Park at Own Risk" signs since people keep parking in front of the house everyday. Not sure if I'll be asked to take them down, but oh well. I'll be putting my fence up maybe next weekend. Will probably also get all my bins out to see exactly what I bought last year the day after Halloween, since it was pretty much I bought it and then stored it away. So hoping I'll have a few nice surprises that I forgot I bought something.
Can't wait to start decorating at work as well. I like to be here on Halloween since they let us dress up and decorate. I just leave early. But I will be taking Nov. 1 off for the sales and so I can stay up late on the 31st.
I could not wait, myself. I have put out my directional sign/post for Salems lot, Elm street, sleepy Hollow, etc. Perched a skull up top and aimed the landscape light on it which illuminates it beautifully along with the oak tree. I also put out the "Broom Parking" sign under my porchlight and have two straw brooms leaning up against it. Next weekend, the Cemetery fence will be put out along with the two coach lanterns/posts. Every year someone asks "How did you get that iron fence installed so quickly-looks beautiful!" I then show them it is plastic and wood and watch their jaws drop! "You should leave it up year around!" I have toyed with the idea! I do leave it up for Christmas, though. I string garland and twinkle lights along the fence and place red bows on the lanterns- People love it!!!!!
I can't wait either (started decorating at work already) but in terms of getting my house and yard decorated that will be more towards the end of the week as I've run into a busy schedule.
I recently had a new found interested in Halloween after missing/letting it pass by after several years starting around the mid to late 90's. I love it though...I remember going to big Halloween shops as a kid/haunted houses and loving it, now as I find myself interested once again I think back and have nostalgic thoughts of such a wonderful time.
I am going all out this year from decorating to handing out candy to attending a costume party.
I love that seeting up for halloween makes everyone nervous. Its funny. Now I know how the christmas people feel! I love halloween buts its nothing to stress over.
[QUOTE=MrsMyers666;381145]I'm very anxious for it to be October.

LOL.
Are they like the real kind of signs? Is it off street parking? You might want to take them down, you can get a ticket and fined for that. I love it though. Why most people park on the cool side? ? I just don't get it. :-)
I started this past weekend. My tv room now has black covered cielings (weed mat) and two sections of camo netting draping down from it - the ceiling is 25 long and 8 feet wide (long and narrow room) and my two sections of camo netting are both 20x25ft.
So I've got netting everywhere and it looks *curse word* awesome. It's our "Enchanted Forrest" for the party. It really makes you feel like you're in a dense overgrown, low hanging, forrest - what's great, is that the black weed mat under the camo makes it completely dark so it feel as though our ceiling could be 20 feet tall (it's only sloped from 10ft to 7ft in that 8ft area).
There's also "castle wall" scene setting in my hall and breakfast nook.
I have been building a fence and using the garage as my tool/supply storage area. I finished today and will clean up tomorrow... then the HW stuff comes down!
I am eagerly awaiting the first cool day. It has been 90-100 for the past week when it hasn't been raining.
