Going creep them out later on with a few mask's. Notice the tin-can noise makers ? they were quite creepy yesterday with the wind blowing, 8-cans total. Also added a sound box with remote behind the witch and on the lampost, tested it yesterday and startle a few of my boys friends.....funny.http://community.webtv.net/boswell7/Bozzsnewandimproved
I love it man people are in the spirit already, I took a long hiatus after I turned 17 (now 28) from the Halloween thing but I am finding myself becoming more INTERESTED and INVOLVED more then ever. I guess part of the reason is kids, little cousins they bring back the nostalgic feeling.
I hope you're doing more to your yard or you'll have a competition on your hands lol, I plan on doing A LOT this year.
Sadly,........I have no competition here and I certainly plan to do more, Yeah I got them crows at Big Lots and Hobby Lobby,......got them for $ 3.50...........last ones. Sound box was a cheapy for $ 10, works great with the cans and they make some cool sounds, windy today as well. Oh I live in Ohio too.
No competition that always sucks I can relate due to the fact for the last 7 years or so we lived in a quite condo area where people put up only a few decorations etc, when I first moved into that area there were a lot of kids trick or treating, houses "done up" but it seems as if as the decades move along so do the people without Halloween.
I live in an area now where more and more houses "go all out" as I like to say with the decorations and do it EARLY at that.
Well I will get some pics posted as well, right now the only thing I have worked on is my office at work.
Yeah its a bummer here and believe it or not,........I've already put up more than the whole neighborhood will do all together,........yeah no kidding. They said I'm late this year.....ha, last year I had more to do so I started early Sept. Oh well its a new home area so maybe they will catch on soon, .......I can only hope !!!
Yeah I believe it's all about people growing up...for example a lot of people on this board that fit the demographic of 26 to 39 years of age and remember the 80's and 90's and how Halloween was a big thing back then, I believe the new generation of kids now a days have waaaaaaaay to many things to keep the occupied from mp3 players to new age video games to the INTERNET. Back then (80s and 90s) there was only so much one could do before getting BORED easily, that's why holidays, family etc were oh so important to the human mind.
Well Halloween seems as if it's making some what of a come back (if it truely ever left) in my area (Ontario, Canada) and that's a good thing. I was shocked when I brought up the idea of decorating our office to my co-workers that they were down to do whatever it took (putting in money as a team, getting the scariest things) to get the office looking Halloween'ish.................SO FAR we have a small ghost hanging from the ceiling, webs all over big and small windows, skelatons, a blood cup etc...and in return I need to get my HOME started ASAP!
I will include pictures in the coming weeks, I just want October to arrive now that I am over the fact summer is gone LOL.
Yeah I hear ya and no truer words were spoken, sounds good and I look forward to seeing your pics, hope to see some decor this week while driving around.........Its time now to get it in the yard !!!!
Yeah I am heading out shortly I hope I catch some decorations as well around the city. I remember those old decorations for the windows (big tall skelation made from soft card board and it could bend it's limbs and neck, the big scary orange pumpkin, DEM BONES etc etc.) that I used to put up with my family, I am going check some stores and see if they still make them. If not I will have to buy some new window decorations and find some good "stuff" for my yard.
