So I have a new experience for the first time this year, I bought a skin head..you know, one of those bald caps so it looks like you have no hair! I need to figure out how to dye this thing white. Some people are telling me to use shoe polish that they use for sneakers...any ideas, tips, experiences with these?
If it's the standard latex, it's not going to dye very well... they tend to yellow rather than bleach, if you see what I mean.
You could leave it in the sun for a while. I think it would eventually turn darker, not brighter.
You could spend a little money and buy white paint made for mask production, try Monster Makers website (just do a search, they're big) and see if that works.
Of course, it can be turned white with the same make-up you're using for your face. I'm guessing you need this to be white every night for the run of your haunt... in that case, make it up once and carefully remove it each night, leave it on a wig head form, and touch it up each day rather than doing it all over from scratch.
I went looking for white bald caps online, found a few from Cinema Secrets for 9.99, and from other clown places for $10-$15, and those will certainly be better than trying to dye a flesh coloured cap!
