So there's not really a secret element to this, if you e-mail the person you get and say "hey, I have you... what's your address." lol

Doesn't the person in charge usually collect everyone's names and addresses, and then privately send a name and address to each person who signs up? That way the person sending you something is kept a secret.

Also, typically the person you receive something from is different than the person you send something to. Basically, I think you create a list of everyone who wants to participate... and then you put all of the names in a bowl and go down the list drawing a name for each person. That way you don't end up with people waiting on their "partner" to send their gift first... or people upset because the person they sent something to didn't send something (in their opinion) as good or as expensive.

I know that all sounds petty... but I've taught long enough, and done enough gift exchanges at Christmas time to know how people can be with this kind of thing.

I just took a look at the Elfster thing, and don't think it would work.... it's intended for families or folks who work together... it randomly assigns the "secret reapers" and then e-mails them out... but only sends a name with an e-mail address. It doesn't provide a way to include mailing addresses with the reaper assignments. So, everyone would have to e-mail the person they were assigned to get their address... which kills the surprise.

Yea I thought I mentioned that site could be a little complicated. Hey 13Mummy do you want help organizing it so it's more of a secrate? I ran one of these on another site. Every one was happy. We could also give out little clues so the person can try and guess who sent the gift. That's always fun.

halloweenking, if you are more then willing to help then that would be great. I was just trying to get it started, otherwise it was getting to close to halloween. If you like to take over that's fine with me as well. Since you seem to have some experience, let me know what you'd like to do.
