I saw on the Spirt website a Parrot that makes rude comments.

Well my Sixteen year old daughter has Homecoming next week and the theme is Pirates.

Mind you I have not seen this in person, I am going to the store on Monday, but I thought it would be Funny!

So is this inappropriate? On some level I must think it is or I would not be asking!

For a homecoming event (or any event for that matter) ...with teenagers.....definitely inappropriate. Just my opinion, of course, but I wouldn't like it as a parent myself.

I think it's fine. You'd have to double check and see exactly what it says though. :-P But it is just a speaker powered by a battery, not like it's an actual person insulting everyone.

I haven't heard it personally, but I'm told the parrot swears like a wounded pirate. And I'm not talking about a flesh wound either, I mean the kind where you start shopping for the peg leg.
    I...have many names...

Examples include, "Polly wants a f$@#ing cracker," "Hey baby, show us yer t*$s,"
I've never found this stuff to be 'funny', so take it for what it's worth, but I wouldn't want it around my house. Let alone Highschool.

    Here you go: http://www.prankplace.com/polly.htm

List's what it says and has audio clips. Don't think you want to get your daughter detention or suspended for this.

Well, yeah... I'd say that is TOTALLY inappropriate!
If my son had anything like that at a school sponsored event, he'd be suspended, no doubt about it.

Yup, inappropriate. I'll put it this way, I teach at a private art college... and if a student came in with that thing, I'd pull them over to the side, ask them to take it out to their car and to not ever bring it back with them. I think most people would find it too offensive for an educational setting.

Yeah a bit too much...even might encourage the kids to think it's ok to talk that way....only thing worse would be to have a rapping parrot! LOL
No honestly, it's not just a nickname....I'm truly Hideous.

I'd say it depends on the comments. I wouldn't decide until hearing it. If it is corny kind of rude comments then i see no reason why it wouldn't be ok.
