Okay, so it looks as though this year DST will happen (or I guess I should say end), in November as opposed to BEFORE halloween like ususal. As I look out my window right this moment and it is still very light out and it's already after 8 p.m., I am left to wonder what will happen this year?

I mean around here TOT'ing happens from 6-9. The really little ones come out a tad earlier but most folks want it to be dark already.

*scratches head* My props look much better at night.

I'm figuring it will be dark around 7:00 p.m. or half way through our city's TOT hours (6-8). While not totally dark for the first hour, it will be dusky. I'm not thrilled with the idea but will just have to live with it. Actually, we seem to have the bulk of our traffic between 7 and 8 anyway, with the little kids coming early. It'll have to do.

That is intersting SouthernBelle, thanks for the reminder.

I notice that here in Michigan, it's starting to get dark at 8PM. Our TOTS trick or treat from 6-8PM every year. Gosh, I hope it's not still light out, but I think it will be.

Thanks for the link jdubbya! I was a little concerned, but a 5:54pm sunset on the day of my party is PERFECT! I always have the party start at 7pm (with food served at 7:30pm) so that it's already DARK out when people arrive. There's no end time, so the length of the party isn't a concern to me. Last year it officially ended at 3am when our last two couples left. That was a fun night!!

    thanks for the almanac link!

Sun sets at 6:37 pm for us according to that. We start seeing TOTs around 5:30 to 6, and the bulk of them from 6:30 - 8:30.

It's at 6:11 for me. Most of the TOTs come after 7:00 so I think it should be quite dark by then. There's just nothing creepy about a graveyard on a sunny afternoon...

Being as I'm as far east in the Eastern zone as you can without falling into the Atlantic, it's at 5:30 for me. It won't impact much. Those in the far western ends of their time zones will have it the worst. And don't forget, there is still quite a bit of light after the sun sets for about half an hour (civil twilight). That, plus Halloween being on a Wednesday this year, will probably get everyone out early before it's really dark.
