There's a Halloween USA opening not too far from me and I was wondering if anyone knows how they compare to other stores like Spirit in selection, price, etc. I don't recall ever being in a Halloween USA, and the one that is opening is taking forever to open. Every time I pass by, there are a couple more unopened boxes of stuff out on the floor, but none is ever actually put up. Very strange since I've driven by about 4 times in two weeks. How can it take over two weeks to open the store?
Anyhow, I was just wondering if they carry all the same stuff as the other stores, or do they have any unique items and if they are more or less expensive than Spirit.
Thanks!

I have a Halloween USA less than a mile from my house. It's usually a year-round "Party USA" except at Hallowe'en they become exclusively a Halloween USA. I'm wondering if your's is the same way.
I can't tell you how it compares to other Hallowe'en stores because it's the only Hallowe'en specialty store in my area. But, I agree with you in that it must take them weeks to set things up. Ours has had the usual "Halloween USA Coming Soon!" sign in it's window for WEEKS. When you look into the windwos there are a lot of empty shelves and boxes sitting around.
Hopefully, they will get things going before the actual holiday.

We will have Halloween Fun Shop opening in our local mall. Has anyone been to one?

I have only heard of Halloween USA but have not ever had the opportunity to visit one. When your surrounded by stores that sell Halloween merchandise, they all become the same it is a matter of price at that point.
We have 4 Party City locations, 3 Spirit Halloween locations, 4 Spencers locations, 1 Halloween Express location and a year round Halloween/Horror shop called rotten jacks creep shack. There are also two costume shops.
Here is a website that sort of list stores in my region. I would be curious to see what a Halloween USA store is all about.

Halloween USA in my humble opinion is a "bit" better. They had a wider variety of props, heads, tombstones and better quality high end items. Spirit Halloween, which is 5 minutes from my home did a bit of a change this year. There prices on many things came down.
SH, The "severed heads" that were crappy AND $38 dollars last year are now $24and seem to be a slight improvment over last year.
SH, has several animated props to Halloween USA's "0".
SH, had a limited selection of masks, and VERY few were of any quality at all.
USA had MORE masks and had better quality, but not by much.
Spirit has more "static" props like devil clowns, spider victims, scarry carries, etc. USA's are limited.
When will a store open that has Higher quality affordable props? I get tired of the "lifesize" statement which means "add two more feet of fabric hanging down and up the price by $50"
Or "lifesize" means 5ft tall! What horror move have YOU seen where a real scary creature was only 5ft tall (exclude Chucky series and trilogy of terror)
The stuff is ALL of questionable quality.
Why dont manufactures make items that are 6ft+ that is lifesize! And spend some time on the paint! Jeeze, most masks look like my Aunt Agatha getting ready for church...it aint pretty. They need to give this stuff realizim, the profits are already outragous!! Make a fair profit on good quality stuff and people will keep coming back...
Sorry fo the rant.

I would have to agree with the post above. I went to Halloween USA Saturday and was not impressed. A lot of the items are exactly what they have at Big Lots, only priced at 3 times as much.
I did have an opportunity to visit a Halloween Express yesterday and liked it a bit better, but again, their pricing is ridiculous.

Yeah, we've got our first Halloween USA this year competing with Spirit and Express (along with the majors). Wonder why we got so lucky? (Not that they're that much better than the other two from what I've seen.)

I wish their site was working so I could find out if there are any around here this year. I guess I'll only find one while driving to other places.
