I just got back from Dollar Tree they have these neat looking Gargoyle statues made out of cement for only a buck! I bought a whole box. Anywhere else these things would be 6 bucks each. They are about 6 inch high.

There was a post about these a few weeks ago.

I picked up 6 of them, and some small tombstones there. I'm using at least 2 on a crypt/tomb I'm constructing.

I was really impressed with them, especially for being $1!

I bought 4, two little ones and two of the bigger ones, I also got 3 tombstones, one of each kind they had. They were too black, so I painted some white on them, then did the ole' running water spray paint thing with some drab olive, with just bit of the black showing through, turned out good, 3 bucks and five minutes time, not bad!
I have flying monkeys- and I'm not afraid to use them!

I bought one, and those tombstones. Otherwise, they didn't have out as much as last year (maybe it is early) - they didn't have any cool DVDs, CDs or the like.

I'm new to building tombstones. What's the "ole' running water spray paint thing"? I assume it's something you do to get that old weathered look underneith corners and letters in the tombstone. Can you describe or provide a link where I can learn this technique? Thanks!

I got some from there a couple years ago, I can't wait to see if these are the same kind or if I get to add more to our decor!

I go to Dollar Tree often. They have finally gotten more stuff out. They are making more room. I'm gonna pick up a bunch of them cause they'll be good to hand out as a prize on the big night.. A few days ago I was back. They had this really big plastic skelteton head. Its something I'd only use in doors.
